notice all the 'personal responsibility' from this family-values reTHUGlican guy...scary that he runs a DAY CARE CENTER...claims it's just his wife's AND trying to get his health insurance life-time coverage on the way out (probably to pay for all those STDs on taxpayer's money)...."I wish this had never happened" to reTHUGlicans means "I wish I hadn't gotten CAUGHT"....

Lawmaker to resign over sex solicitation

Springville Republican Rep. Calvin Bird says he will resign from his legislative seat after getting caught soliciting sex from a police decoy.

On Sept. 30, Bird pulled over his vehicle at 1899 S. State St. and offered a female city police officer posing as a prostitute $40 for sex. He was ticketed and released. On April 12, Bird pleaded guilty and was placed on probation for a year and ordered to go through the city's "Johns Program."

Friday, Bird said he would leave his legislative seat as soon as he clears up some health insurance issues.

"I enjoyed what I was doing" at the Legislature, Bird said. "I wish this had never happened."

He works as a real estate broker for Prudential Utah Real Estate. A legislative Web site says he and his wife own TLC for Kids, a child care center. Bird said his wife is the sole owner and operator of that business.

Probably would have saved him some trouble. Now he'll probably lose his job, and the daycare AND be excommunicated.

The first time I had to deal with the problem within Utah, I realized that there really was only a facade of democracy there. Mormons are actually good businessmen so being part of the union, trade with other states makes sense to them, but never believe that the federal government is that important to them.

Mormons aren't hypocritical about this kind of stuff.
