Just wondered if those "expatriate enclaves" were as elaborate as the one that was stormed by the hostage takers this weekend, for I was surprised at that one there wasn't even some sort of recreational area where any expatriate teenagers / youths could hang out with their friends as well as a kennel / cattery area for the pets of expatriates, (though I was surprised that any one could even think of bringing their dog to Saudi Arabia, since dogs were "religiously impure.).
If life in a fairly elaborate expatriate enclave was one of the "perks" of expatriate life in Saudi Arabia, I would be surprised that anyone would want to heed the government / embassy advisories to get the heck out of Saudi Arabia, no matter what the risk was, and I wonder how big any exodus will be.
