Huge 9/11 Revelation???
Edited on Wed Aug-13-03 12:53 AM by jayfish
I just finished transcribing this from my TIVO of Nightline. I usually would not do something like this but I think this could be huge.
The subject of the show was the threat posed to commercial airliners by shoulder-fired surface to air missiles. After the set piece the show continued with a panel of three guests, John Nance (ABCNews Aviation Consultant), Larry Johnson (aviation security expert) and John Mica (R) Chairman House Aviation Committee. Larry Johnson argued that the most cost effective way to protect airliners to go after and kill fundamentalist Muslims who we know would want to destroy one. John Mica followed up with the assertion that the problem was more widespread than Islamic fundamentalists and we need to deploy mechanical counter measures on commercial aircraft. Then this exchange took place.

Larry Johnson:
"There needs to be one thing corrected here, with all due respect to the congressman. You look at the statistics that have been published by the State Department. It’s very clear which groups are doing the killing...which groups are injuring people and it’s not a global threat, it's an isolated threat.

Rep. John Mica:
"That’s the same group that gave us the warning on the world trade center and a..."

Larry Johnson:
"Which same group?"

Rep. John Mica
"I'm saying we had that knowledge."

My jaw hit the floor and I immediately grabbed a pad of paper. Did John Mica just divulge that an Islamic fundamentalist group warned the US of the impending attack on the World Trade Center? It sure did to me. Anyone have any comments?

Jay

10. I called Ike Skeltons office in Missouri...
...to ask about a statement a reporter made while covering the WTC in NY on S11. Curiously, he had no comment. Yeah, need to quit covering up for Bush's business partners. That son of a bitch works for the Saudis or something. I can find no other explanation for this corporate shills behavior.

12. there are several reports of pre-knowledge
amongst the Moslim community in the US. Not just about something going to happen, but specific to the event.
Of course no-one believed them at the time.

about much of it. If had to anything to do with the Saudis it got cut off, there is a good outline of what was going on here

What Congress Does Not Know about Enron and 9/11

A captured Al Qaida document reveals that US energy companies were secretly negotiating with the Taliban to build a pipeline. The document was obtained by the FBI but was not allowed to be shared with other agencies in order to protect Enron. Multiple sources confirm that American law enforcement agencies were deliberately kept in the dark and systematically prevented from connecting the dots before 9/11 in order to aid Enron’s secret and immoral Taliban negotiations.

The suppressed Al Qaida document tends to support recent claims of a cover-up made by several mid-level intelligence and law enforcement figures. Their ongoing terrorist investigations appear to have been hindered during the same sensitive time period while the Enron Corporation was still negotiating with the Taliban. An inadvertent result of the Taliban pipeline cover-up was that the Taliban’s friends in Al Qaida were able to complete their last eight months of preparations for 9/11 while the Enron secrecy block was still in force.

Although the latest order to block investigations allegedly resulted from Enron’s January 2002 appeal to Vice President Dick Cheney, it appears that there were at least three previous block orders, each building upon the other, stretching back for decades and involving both Republican and Democratic administrations.

The first block came in the 1970’s, as a result of Congressional reaction to domestic espionage against the anti-Vietnam war movement. In a case of blatant over-reaction, the FBI placed all houses of worship and religious charities off-limits for any surveillance whatsoever unless there was independent probable cause. This meant that all Mosques and other Muslim meeting places for terrorist groups were effectively off limits until after a crime had been committed. The block order was not lifted until last week by Atty. General Ashcroft.

15. Here's a huge 911 revelation
Al Quaida works for the Bush crime family, and has since their mujadeen days in Afghanistan. Big surprise, like no one ever thought of that before.

20. Would Atta
and the other Saudis know and use the special immunity given to Saudis generally and friends of government co-sponsors of terrorism in particular? The careless, arrogant aspects of their training and the places of course suggest so. And probably not unknown to some of the usual Saudi authorities- not pretenders but same old same old.

The question also exists whether the Saudi pals betrayed Bush or felt greenlighted and shared(or felt no need to) special information not granted to the Intel community, something that might be limited only to the closest Bush circle. Therefore harder to crack.

That might also explain the continued suppression of the Saudi documents. Afraid that under pressure some Saudi might spill the beans about what Bush knew or what they presumed his attitude was to terrorists in the US.

19. very interesting
I don't believe much in conspiracy theories, but I believe there are many things hidden from the general public.

Still, if Osama and Saddam are found anywhere near the time of the 2004 election I will believe most conspiracy theories out there, but THAT is too good to be true.

22. Background On Rep. John Mica (R)
http://www.house.gov/mica/micabio.htm

-SNIP-
In 2001, Rep. Mica was named Chairman of the Subcommittee on Aviation. A subcommittee of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the Aviation Subcommittee has jurisdiction over all matters relating to civil aviation including airport improvement, aviation safety and security, and other related issues. Major federal agencies under oversight by this subcommittee include the Federal Aviation Administration, the Transportation Security Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. After September 11th, Mica authored the Aviation and Transportation Security Act, which created the new Transportation Security Administration to focus on protecting aviation -- as well as all modes of transportation -- from future terrorist attacks.
-SNIP-

Mica was chair of this subcommittee well before 9/11. If you had a chance to watch the show, you would see that this exchange became very awkward and uncomfortable for Mica after he made the statement about a warning. I have never heard a Republican, of any stripe, come straight out and say that there was a warning, from a fundamentalist Islamic group, prior to 9/11. Did he say something that he was not supposed to?
