Is this true?
That the biggest reason for a "sovereign" turnover of Iraq on June 30th is because the Shrub administration cannot get enough UN Security Council votes to extend a resolution that would exempt the occupying forces from charges of war crimes? Would this include the US Government as well as the Military?

1. The Dubya administration doesn't care about war crimes
They've already said they would invade Holland if a US soldier was brought in front of the War Crimes council in The Hague.

3. More bully tactics from people who shouldn't be in control of lint.
Petty and despicable, the bully's* attempt to intimidate other nations.

And inevitable. At some point an American will stand in front of the War Crimes council. The way things keep heading, that is inevitable.

The Geneva Conventions speaks of the responsibiliies of an Occupying Power .

So the fictional "sovereignty" may be an attempt to escape those responsibilities.

5. No one outside this site
is talking about war crimes trials for Bushco. Maybe that's a stretch, but no one with any power is seriously considering it.

9. No
The reason they're handing over soverignty is because they want to convince the Iraqi's that we are not, in fact, occupying their country (which will be a little hard since there'll still be 140,000 American soldiers milling about...)
