Say NO to Prosecution of Human Shields
Faith Fippinger, 62, of Sarasota Springs, FL, USA stayed throughout the war and helped in the hospitals, as most of probably know. She was notified by the US Treasury Department last week that they intend to prosecute her. They told her they consider her assistance in Iraqi hospitals during the bombing as "giving her services to the Iraqi government." They asked her if she was guilty and she told them she was not, and that she cannot, in conscience, pay them any fine based on such an assessment.

I ask you to write letters to the Treasury Department requesting that they drop this and all cases against Human shields.

2. Why are we prosecuting them?
It just makes no sense to me, if they want to go stand infront of a tank that should be their right and their decission. Just don't be suprised when they get run over by that tank...

6. RE: What?
I did read the article, and I was expressing my opinion as to why we shouldn't prosecute human shields. I may consider signing the petition.

4. Since you are new here
let me explain how it works. Due to copyright laws, we cannot post an entire article. It's in the DU rules. A summary on the topic is posted, then a link given to the full article.

Reading the full article can prevent you from posting an inane reply.

8. Thank you. Yes, I will do this.
I saw this woman being interviewed on one of the MSNBC shows Monday night and she did not acquit herself at all well. She came off as all vague and spacey. I kept wishing that she would answer the questions put to her, like why she went to Iraq and how she intended to respond to this litigation. She obviously has the courage of her convictions, if she did all this. She seemed to be saying that she intended to do nothing, like they could do whatever they wanted to her and she would ignore it.
