Going on a lark: "What's up, doc?"

Howard Dean is like a cross between Bugs Bunny and the Roadrunner, my 2 favorite cartoon characters when I was a kid.

Both Bugsy and Dean are New Yorkers and have the New York gumption and self-confidence about themselves. They are good-natured folk who mind their own business but will defend themselves when attacked. They are both witty and humorous.

Roadrunner of course is more wiley than Coyote and represents Dean's and Trippi's innovative campaign thinking.

Elmer Fudd represents Dean's Democratic opposition from the DLC chiefs Al From and Bruce Reed to the Democratic Prez contenders. However, Joe Lieberman seems to embody Fudd's character the best.

Yosemite Sam represents George W. Bush and the dickhead Repukes, like Newt Gingrinch and Tom Delay. Sam is the gun toting and shooting bully who only knows how to use force to get his way.

Wiley Coyote represents Karl Rove, who plots constantly to get Roadrunner with Acme products, but constantly fails to do so because Roadrunner is more wiley than he and of course, owns the Acme company.

They both have a southern accent and Gore has a great sense of humor.

Donald Duck right now = Gov. Gray Davis, who is unpopular and facing a recall battle. Elmer Fudd use to go after Donald Duck also. Donald was cleaver but not as much as Bugs Bunny was because Donald had a darker mischieviousness about him that Bugsy did.

Elmer often hunted DAFFY Duck. (Bugs, Daffy and Elmer are all Warner Bros. characters; Donald is Disney.)
