what a horrible story..
wow, what a sad story, I feel for his wife and family...

========

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Northeast/08/12/sprj.irq.marine.dies.ap/index.html

WEARE, New Hampshire (AP) -- After eight months in Kuwait and Iraq, Marine Master Sgt. Dale Racicot just wanted to see his wife and two daughters.

Giddy with excitement, they headed for the airport on Friday in Racicot's cherished "Marine Corps green" pickup truck to start what his daughter, Keri Magnarelli, called "a reunion of a lifetime."

Back home three hours later, Racicot collapsed onto his dining room floor, dead of a heart attack at 54.

His wife, Janet, said she heard the thud from the kitchen, where she was getting a glass of water.

"I came running over to him and I knew something serious was going on," she said in an interview Tuesday. "He looked at me and said, 'I love you all,' and that was the last thing he said."

5. Don't worry, the Racicots can take care of themselves.
> sh MSgt. Racicot's family the best.

Don't worry, the Racicots can take care of themselves.

Yes, they are apparently THOSE Racicots, one
a Republican governor and the other the (former?)
chairman of the RNC.

And this guy was clearly a winger; see the story in
this morning's Boston Globe. He wanted all this
killing and it ended up killing him. Gee, how sad.

Sorry, I'm not shedding any tears for bad things that
happen to the people who want bad things to happen.

Perfectly said. Wishing for death to those who disagree with us is pretty disgusting.

I don't wish for their deaths.

I wish for their conversions.

But, failing that, I won't mourn their deaths.

13. Bullshit on that idea.
> Political affiliations do not transgress death.

The Republicans understand the battle, and it is to the death.

Either yours and mine or at least to the death of the political
ideas that we (well, at least I, I don't know about you)
support.

Long after Bill Clinton has shuffled off this mortal coil,
Republicans will still be mocking him and trying to excise
all good mentions of him in history books while inserting
all the vile filth they can manage.

Don't lecture me about not feeling sorry when one more
exceedingly partisan Republican asshole kicks off. He was
for death and he got it. Too bad for him.

> Pull your arrogant head out of your self righteous
> backside and rethink your position.

I've thought about my psition; thought long and hard,
in fact. And the longer I think, the less I care two
shits about the death of another fascist.

18. You're not reading what I wrote.

You're not reading what I'm writing, you're reading what
you THINK I'm writing.

Feel free to let me know when you've read what I actually
wrote.

Until then, you may want to consider that while calling
someone a "moron" may represent higher intelligence in your
book, it also violates the DU posting rules.

Just admit you had a testosterone moment and your mental capacity dipped to barbarism , your OK now, and lets move on.

3. I heard his wife on the radio yesterday.
She was pretty composed and clearly adored her husband. She said that the 3 hours they had together was a great gift. I admired her courage.

8. I hope someone is researching this kind of phenomena
My Dad was in the Army for 30 years - never sick once the entire time. I attribute this to him being "on" all the time and between his mind and his body he just didn't get sick. Then he retires - gets sick like the rest of us. Somehow the body "knows" to stay healthy, but as soon as you get to an "R&R" point - it literally lets it's defenses down.

Just my two bits.

You understand that it was this bozo's brother (?), the
Racicot who's a big wheel in the RNC who is partially
responsible for having sent Master Gunnery Sargent
Racicot to his death, right?

> your compassion...

Sorry, when it comes to compassion for people
(Republicans) who demonstrably don't have any
to spare for me, I'm all out. I ran out about
2 years ago when they stole the election.

> His brother was "bad" so he deserved to die.

Actually, based on the story in The Globe,
he was just as bad as his brother. In his last
hours on earth, he was talking about how proud he
was that he got to meet Oliver North. Besides,
you probably don't get to be a Master Gunnery
Sargent in the Marines by being all "peace-oriented"
and "love your neighbor, even if they're Arab" and
such-like.

> When you croak, will anybody care?

Maybe not; does it matter in the larger question
of good and evil?
