My husband lost his job today via certified mail
And then to top it off, Bush was being interviewed by MSNBC from his pig farm in Crawford this morning and says, "you all can get back to work now because the economy is in 'recovery'". When asked how the deficit in California was different than his federal deficit he answered with something like "our economic problems are not this administration's fault, we inherited them from the previous administration". HELLO....you sir inherited a huge surplus which you quickly gave away to your cronies. Don't talk shit to me you little piece of crap. And if his logic follows, Gray Davis must have inherited his problems from Pete Wilson the previous Republican governor. Somebody get me a hammer.

Aw...a side of me you have not seen. Rant done. I'm probably not finished though.

5. Do you know how much those HR people make?
I was surprised (or not) to hear that these HR people have huge salaries, usually between 80 and 100K a year. I haven't met an efficient HR director yet...slimey bastards.

11. I couldn't agree with you more SuffagetteSal.
When I was told I was laid off the HR director had a smile on her face. She was actually enjoying herself. It took all my will power not to slap her in the face.
I don't know how people can enjoy ruining somebodies life. It totally baffles me!

17. Now wait a minute everyone....
I am a Director of Human Resources for a mid sized company and I can tell you several things:

First, unless they are a sick and twisted individual, nobody enjoys firing or laying somebody off. Its the worst part of my job. It makes me physically sick to know I just ruined somebody's life.

Second, It is very poor form to mail a termination letter. I only do that if I cannot reach the individual and bring them in for a face to face. They at least deserve the courtesy and respect of being told such bad news in person.

I am sorry for you and your husband's loss and I know your very emotional right now, but to paint all HR Directors in the same evil light is the exact same thing Anne Coulter tries to do with all Democrats. Judge each according to his or her actions.

By the way folks, I don't make a ton of money either!!

28. tacky
We were notified that there would be a reduction in force via EMAIL which arrived at 430 pm, at which time the sender of the email was probably already out the door and able to avoid any flack. Those affected were ultimately notified by phone, which is better than by letter I guess.

7. City employee
apparently the 'rules' say you cannot collect any sick time you have accured. Learn something new every day. I hope he gets to cash in his vacation time he never used - 2 weeks worth. If not...mama is going to be fumin'.

18. No, its not. It depends on....
state law and company policy. In the State of Arizona, if your company policy states that it isn't payable upon termination, then it isn't.

8. Tell Your Husband To File For His UE Claim Immediately
First thing tomorrow morning, go down to your UE office and file your claim. It takes a long while for those claims to be completed. Also, tell your husband to look for a bridge job and to dumb down his resume if he's going for a job with Starbucks.

I once got fired via answering machine, they waited until the second I got out the door on Friday.

I remember posting about it here.

Luckily I found a much, much better job. So don't get to discouraged, it'll all be okay.

22. I am so sorry for the rotten treatment
That is a really crappy way to treat people. But, I am sure that he is just a number to his former employer.

So Shrub got on TV and told baldface lies to the public. Was there any democratic leader brought in to challenge what he said? Or was there some psuedo-democrat brought in to say "Whatever Noble Leader says is true because he said it?" How much longer will the media keep letting this garbage past without challenging it?

Tell your slime ball corporate whores to start hiring and spreading the wealth around you moronic baffoon! Nope, they're too busy buying yachts and shit with the tax breaks you have given THEM not the people that need it.. I got your 'recovery' right here you mother fucker!!!

And get off the we inherited this economy... BULLSHIT.. You had it handed to you and a silver platter and you still fucked it up! How god damned greedy are you that you pissed off a surplus that took 8 years to build up in 2 years? What the fuck do you think this is ??
Do we need to get you a copy of Money/Budgets for Dummies?!

Unlike you personally the country doesn't have a daddy that bails them out everytime we get in trouble. WE HAVE TO BAIL OURSELVES OUT JR. You are a worthless, greedy, meanspirited, chickenhawk, lying, conniving, intellictually and morally corrupt Mama's boy. I hope you burn in hell for eternity.
