NPR LIES for Bush again
NPR keeps emphasizing how the UN Security council "ENDORSED" the new occupaton appointed gov't in Iraq. This is a complete and utter lie. The US was told the UN would never support a resolution with the words "ENDORSE" contained in the wording. It was agreed to change to "WELCOME". Welcome is just general courtesy and not full support. Once again BushCo try to push off something and are left with their tails between their legs when they are directed to go back to the drawing board with a more acceptable approach. I am getting very tired of the state run media from all sources.

1. Email Them and Call Them on Their Lie
They do read listeners' responses on occasion...

4. NPR

is not always credible that is for sure. I actually do not listen to them anymore. Not that they are complete liars they are not, but they have been bought they are much more a corporate entity and they do seem to have a biased agenda.

5. From the wires...(AP)
"UN Council Set to Welcome Iraq Governing Council"
http://asia.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=3279066

U.N. members have been wary of appearing to give the Governing Council the status of a full-fledged government, seeking to keep pressure on Iraq's U.S. and British administrators to quickly end their occupation and let Iraqis run their country.

No where in this story does the word "endorse" appear.

Use this story to show NPR its error.

6. How can we be surprised?
PBS & NPR are government funded, as much if not more than by private sponsorship.

What EVER made us believe that they are not somewhat, at least peripherally, influenced BY the government?

7. they just went into it
in more depth. This time they discussed the many reservations that members had expressed and went into why "welcome" was used instead of "endorse".

They played, of course, some audio from that Iran-Contra criminal Negraponte. :puke:

8. Another NPR lie???
From NPR:

Helicopter Mishap Spurs Tensions in Baghdad
Violence erupts in an area of Baghdad populated by poor Shia after a U.S. helicopter flies into a religious banner. The incident shows how fragile relations are between U.S. forces and downtrodden Iraqis. NPR's Anne Garrels reports. Aug. 14, 2003

http://www.npr.org/news/specials/iraq2003/index.html

Yesterday, this was reported as a incident when someone aboard a US helicopter tried to take the banner down by hand. Now, NPR says the helicopter flew into the banner???

What's going on? What is the truth?

And what's with the use of "downtrodden?" C'mon, Anne, you can be more specific than that! Or has the term "Saddam Loyalists" run its course. Does this mean that not-so-downtrodden Iraqis still cheer "Operation Iraqi Liberation?"

Man, threaten to yank NPR's funding like Newt Gingrich and the GOP 104th Congress did and watch NPR become willing whores for the Republicans.
