Will Bush using Ronald Reagan during the campaign succeed?
Will it make any difference?

When the Bush/Cheney campaign starts pouring Reagan over everything, metaphorically speaking, I think the Dems will have to spend valuable time responding to it, instead of focusing on the positive vision Kerry will have as President.

1. All Reagan All The Time
The problem with using Reagan is that people remember him. It's one thing to herald his triumphs at his funeral - who's going to argue against it? But Reagan's presidency was not as innocent as the Republicans claim. He was anti-poor and anti-labor, and his appointees were criminals. He avoided impeachment by playing dumb, saying that nobody told him what was going on.

The Reagan thing works with people who are already disposed to vote for Bush. Overplaying it may turn off people who are undecided.

2. The comparison of Bush to Reagan is NOT favorable to * ...
The grand irony here is: the MORE they elevate the image of Reagan, the FARTHER he flies ABOVE poor hapless * ...

Bush seems so puny compared to Saint Ronald ...

This cannot be good for them ...

Don't you all think it's a little over the top with Reagan jingoism?

http://georgewbush.com/

They didn't even leave anything out.

It is gaudy, to say the least. A video tribute?!?!?! Even has sound files of his speeches and these nifty prominent links:

Remarks By President Bush in Eulogy for President Ronald Wilson Reagan

Read and Join the Online Tribute to President Reagan

President Bush's Remarks Upon the Death of President Ronald Reagan

Vice President Cheney's Eulogy at State Funeral for President Reagan

Seems more about Bush and Cheney than about Reagan.

Did Bush and Cheney die? Ehh...never mind.

ON EDIT: HOLD ON --- BACK UP!

Vice President Cheney's Eulogy at State Funeral for President Reagan

Cheney DID the eulogy?????

:wtf:
