1. Hey, mine's voting for Kerry and this will probably be the first
Democrat he's ever voted for. And he's 87!

He's so disgusted with * and the damage he's done.

It can happen!

3. Do you guys think that I can covert Papa (he's 70)!
We were making no progress (with my father-in-law). Then he figured out how much they were going to have to pay for Nana's medication annually under the New Plan (and its ramifications - companies have been encouraged to do away with the coverage their retirees had been receiving, or something like that). We had been warning him for months and months. Now, we're close to converting him!

10. Good luck
Basically they have to come to realize the downsides to Republicanism. You just need to push them in the right direction.

2. Don't give up!
It can be done. My father's got a voting record, dating back as far as I know, of Reagan, Reagan, Bush I, Bush I, Dole, and Bush II. And I convinced him to vote Kerry this year. People are catching on.

7. Introduce him to the religious left
There are actually baptist (and other) lefties. Maybe they would have an effect on him.

12. It's very rare that a member of the religious right can be won over by
the spiritual left. It can happen., but not as often as I'd like.

Would Jesus love a liberal? You bet!

6. Same here
My 86-year-old mother has finally given up on the chimp. She will cast her first vote for a Democrat since Kennedy in 1960.

9. I'll cross my fingers for you.
You can do it. I talked my elderly mother into voting for the first time in 30 some years. She finally agreed when she found out all I told her about PNAC. Have you told him about that yet?
