Where to I find information about sending a care package
to the troops? Any suggestions?

Read the letter linked at the post below

We all know that the troops are not adequately provided for over there, but to read it in this letter/article by a man morning the senseless death of his brother in Iraq, it just brings it home. I can't save his brother, I am trying to do what I can to stop the war, but in the meantime, I want to help some poor soldier who doesn't have enough water.

6. cookies
I've been sending stuff to a good friend's husband for a few months.

While it may vary depending on where exactly they are, he says there are books and candy all over the place and what they really appreciate is baked goods. I've been baking and the stuff seems to arrive in decent condition but I'm sure you could also sent purchased items.

8. If you want to send phone cards or stamps, just ask local P.O.
The post office near my office has signs up announcing a program in which you can buy a phone card (at varying rates, for varying minutes) and/or stamps for overseas service members. I'm sure they'll appreciate this, particularly on holidays and special days.
