Garrison Keillor, Father's Day, and expectations...

I hope I'm not the only one who got to hear Garrison Keillor's broadcast on NPR today. In his Lake Wobegon segment, he started talking about fathers and the expectations children have of them. One of the main things he dwelled on was the idea that people expect fathers to tell the truth.

In his long-winding way, Keillor eventually got around to talking about fathers in the highest circles of our nation who are telling the most fantastic, outrageous (not his exact words) lies.

A "hoot" went out on the audience as his subtlety was not lost. What an elequent way of expressing yourself, Mr. Keillor. Thank you!

(apologies if I misspelled his name)

He was the end of The Speaker Series here and it was just absolutely fantastic! What a great storyteller, we need more and more of people like him.
