Dowd admits Clinton "power surge..produced lower body count"
New York Times:

OP-ED COLUMNIST

Because They Could
By MAUREEN DOWD

Published: June 20, 2004

....The Clinton alpha instinct on Monica, fueled by a heady cocktail of testosterone and opportunism, was the same one that led W. into his march of folly with Iraq. After 9/11, the president, vice president and secretary of defense wanted to go to the Middle East and knock the stuffing out of somebody bad — because it would feel good, because it would put our enemies on notice, and because it would make the president look strong....

***

Mr. Clinton, though he was vilified by the right, tittered at by the world and dolled up in pink-and-black suede shoes as a toddler by his mom, is selling a zillion books.

As Republicans keep saying, with fingers crossed, W. has stayed even with John Kerry despite the litany on Iraq, terrorism and domestic affairs that has turned out quite differently than promised.

But one thing you can say for Bill Clinton: His "Who's gonna stop me?" Oval Office power surge produced a much lower body count.

3. This Must Be Four Years Of Sexual Repression...
Almost every review of Clinton's book involved Monicagate with obsession. Sheesh. What part of getting oral sex does one need to know or hear again? And why?

I heard one review on C-SPAN this morning where the writer took literary license...or just straight out fantasy...by calling Lewinski Clinton's "lover" and gave the impression this was some hollywood love affair. What part of oral sex do they need defined?

And, of course there's the LIE. You know, the one that was surely going to destroy our judicial system as millions of lechurous men could now say "Hey Bill lied about his sex, I can lie about mine". That's about the only "danger" I ever saw on this thing. Yep, men would lie to juries about cheating on their wives. Oh for shame, for shame. Yet, you hear these same "moralizers", like Rush, pooh pooh torture and murder as acceptable while walking out on another trophy wife. Yawn.

What is it about Repugnicans and sex? Yes, we know these were the geeks who lived in the computer lab and played the game...they got the money and thought that would replace getting laid...or buy it for 'em. Of course many of them are "christians" who are told that all men are sinners and we must forgive, but to hell with that when it's Bill Clinton. That's cause he got some and they didn't. Maybe someone else can explain this obsession with sex by Pugs...seems to run through all they do.

4. Dowd... cannot help to bite a Democratic butt whenever possible. Sex?
Her sexual obsession seems to come through in every article. It doesn't matter is she is talking about repugs, she always relishes those (must be tasty) Democratic butts. Looky here (first paragraph of this article:)
n his "60 Minutes" interview, Bill Clinton calls his intern idyll "a terrible moral error," illuminating "the darkest part of his inner life." Not to mention the hardest part on his back since, astonishingly, he says he spent months sleeping on the couch. (Was the Lincoln bedroom always occupied by donors?)

Do you see the need for that last parenthesized sentence?
