Is Ron Reagan great, or is it just me?
Friday night Ron Reagan did an interview with someone, I can't even remember who, and I was mighty, mighty impressed. They showed a clip of him eulogizing his father and he said something like, "True, my father was a religious man, and he thought that when he didn't die from an assassin's bullet he had been spared for a reason. However, he took that as a responsibility, not a mandate. And there is a profound difference."

So the interviewer had asked him if he had been talking about Bush, and he said, "The fact that a lot of people seem to think so is interesting. Bush might find himself lumped in with politicians in that group, and if the shoe fits, wear it...There's a lot of false piety floating around Washington these days."

I likey. Anyone else see it?

And I have a lot more respect for him now. He has matured immensely since his father was president. I wouldn't be surprised if he joined our side some day.

3. ron kicks ass!
I knew I liked him the moment I saw him doing the Tom Cruise "Risky Business" dance -- in his underwear! -- on Saturday Night Live ... and that was DURING Ronald Reagan's second term in office! I have never laughed harder at anything I've seen on Saturday Night Live! There used to be a clip of it on the Internet ... perhaps someone could find it and share it.

His political "color" pieces on MSNBC are always hilarious ... he's very quick-witted. And he seems to be able to find a way to be a liberal without openly slamming his father.

Not to mention that he does a great job doing commentary on the Eukenuba Dog Shows on Animal Planet ... he knows his canines!

5. He really is good with language
I remember him being asked about the rumors he was gay and why he didn't respond much to them. He said he could 'do' Christine Brinkley on the 50 yard line during the Super Bowl halftime show and some people still would believe the rumors.

I admit I did fall for those but I was clearly wrong. Ah well. Still a nice guy.

In 1980, if I'm remembering correctly.

That's hard for me to forgive.

8. Too bad his POS father didn't actually DO something decent
after he was shot. Could have fulfilled that supposed mandate he had.
