CBS news tonight
Haven't seen this reported here before.

The CBS news tonight had a long and heart-wrenching report about wounded Iraq veterans. That was followed by a segment of Iraqis asking us how we like not having power in the middle of a heat wave.

Are they *getting* it?

1. CBS is the best network outlet
from the Hussein interview through the war, CBS was the only network that didn't buy into the war 100%.

3. Greg Palast says
that Dan Rather is (unlike Brokaw) a legitimate journalist who would like to report the truth if his corporate masters would allow, and I remember the interview he did with Bush Sr which was the most contentious interview Bush Sr. ever had and he resorted to attack antics.

4. Rather came out and said
right in the middle of the war that there was enormous pressure to lie about how well things were going (he said it in London, of course).

Rather earned his stripes in 'Nam. He knows what this is all about.

5. Who is their parent company?
Do you think he has to fight for every story like the one tonight that he puts on or is his persona enough to carry the day?

Also, do you have a source for that interview? I would like to read it if nothing else.

7. how is brokaw not legitimate?
just curious

all 3 of them(rather, Browkaw, and Jennings) are clearly liberals or at least left-leaning.

and Brian Williams too.

However, they don't put on an ultra-pro dem broadcast every night as the RW says they do

2. I agree.
I saw the segment and thought it was a trickle of what brought viet Nam to a close. Those are the images that people need to see. Dan Rather is a Texan to be proud of.

ABC has done some good reporting lately too.

Ya know what pi$$es me off about the media...
is that they go where the ratings are? They hyped the war before it happened, and now tell us the truth. RATINGS are all that matters GRRRR!
