Use the blackout as an excuse to shout ENRON any chance you get!
Let's face it, it's just another tragic result of the Reagan-era deregulation fever that allowed companies like Enron to flourish and states like California to be screwed.

And now they want to deregulate the media? More? Go meet your reps and tell them that you not only want them to roll back the new FCC rules - you want to restore the Fairness Doctrine and roll back the catastrophic deregulation of the 80's!

Go to http://meetings.commoncause.ctsg.com/meetings/selectMeeting.asp?event_id=1 for a start.

5. The grid system was set up for energy trading and not reliabilty.
They "Enroned" the electric power supply. Profit over people's security. Almost a manslaughterlike equivalent to terrorism.

4. Right-on!
The deregulation schemata indeed started during the Reagan Admin. Think tanks such as the Ludwig von Mises institute and numerous Ayn Randers were heavily involved.

9. Shout "First Energy" instead
Bu$h Pioneer and an advisor to Cheney, Tony Alexander is the CEO of First Energy, the company that owns Ohio Edison. It is starting to look like it's his company that caused the black out.

This is not the first time Alexander's company has had serious problems. I guess Alexander is too busy giving away $100,000's of dollars for tax breaks and deregulation to bother with upgrading infrastructure.
