I'm extremely disappointed in Southern California DUers!
Edited on Sat Aug-16-03 12:30 AM by maggrwaggr
Bush was in the Santa Monica Mountains today.

Where were we?

I tried to stir up some interest on this board to protest the bastard, and got absolutely NO response.

What the fuck?

Where are all the people who were in Century City not so long ago?

Are we all content to sit at our little keyboards typing angrily away? What the hell good does that do in the big scheme of things?

Where WAS everybody?

(edited to add "Southern California" after the first few sarcastic remarks :) )

5. instinct
I automatically go in the opposite direction of where Bush is. I don't want to go to jail. Did you hear about that girl that commented on Bush's legs. Ouch, be afraid, be very afraid.

7. hey I was game-I think I answered your post about it
But we need to have an organized approach.
Too bad that answela.org didn't have a protest.
It is way too risky to show up with ten or so people.

There was a protest at his hotel in Irvine and there was one in San Diego. I think the Sandiego protest pics are on General Discussion from yesterday.

We have alot of work to do here in SoCal.
We have this whole recal thing to deal with.
If the repukes get their man in as gov then watch out in the 2004 election-
-they'll canpaign for the shrub and allow for electronic voting fraud. Probably they will be sure to get the machines in place and we will never see another Dem gov. again.

Just for starters they want to drill offshore and wreck the national forests and kill the redwoods. That's just for starters.

8. That's what surprised me. No organized approach at all
and apparently nobody thought of having one.

I was pretty moved by the Century City protest. It was, in fact, my first political protest ever in my life (and I'm 41). I found it very inspiring and it actually gave me some hope.

So when I posted about a protest in the Santa Monica Mtns I expected people to say "oh yeah, it's going to be here, at this time, etc. etc."

But there was nothing. I was very disappointed, because I think we should protest this idiot every chance we get.

I'm just wondering .... why was there no protest?

11. Because we are sedated sheep...
Bahhhhhhh........

No one cares anymore......DU is the one, if not thee largest left voice on the web...Youre lucky if you get 30 - 50 people to respond to even the most important posts... We are a handfull of people. A focus group, just like w said..... It's rather quite sad........ even during the largest protest since vietnam, right before the Iraq war only like 1% of the people stood up and said no...1%!!! We are doomed... Just bend over and take it...... Nothing can save us from our own stupidity....

10. Sadly, I was at work.
Otherwise, I would have shown up to scream my head off at that traitorous f*ck! :)

Keep me in mind for future events, though - I'm dying out here trying to find events to attend! I'm surprised there aren't more in the Santa Monica area.

:wtf:

12. tied up
Wanted to go to the San Diego protest yesterday, but didn't have a ride.

BTW, only 4 SoCal DUers showed up for Will Pitt's speech a couple of weeks ago.

13. Maybe they were at the Irvine Hyatt Regency protest
That's where I was today. CodePink was there as well as AnswerLA and a few others. The turnout was not as large as the Century City protest, but it was respectable considering it was a morning on a workweek. I forgot how many middle-fingers there were in Orange County...but there were a lot of peace signs as well.

Attention: Let's all get out SoCal butts over to the Hollywood peace march on September 28th (on s Sunday). This should be good one..it's already been permitted. Here's a link: http://answerla.org/

15. I left my damn camera on the dining room table
right next to my cell phone...aarrrgh!!! I'm gonna try to hunt some down, there has got to be some out there on the web by now...with the ease of digital cameras and all.

Yeah, there were a few freeps, but we outnumbered them by far (as usual).

16. They flew over me this morning...I scowled at them....
Then wished the military didn't have to waste their pilots, helicopters and fuel on ferrying those idiots around, then got dressed went to work for my client...

If I change my lifestyle, then the terrorists win.
