Standing in front of my Subway with a "I support my Troops banner", a flag and a button that said "Sodomite free zone"...This guy, I have to admit had balls to have such a button in a predominately gay area.

So, I go out and ask him to please stop blocking the access to my store. Dude rips into me saying...What you have a problem with supporting our troops? Or is it the flag you have a problem with. It was a bad day...I was busy...and in no mood for his shit. I replied to him

"How are you supporting our troops? Are you sending them bottled water? Do you realize the Gubmint isn't providing more than 3 liters a day per man. That is Dangerous in the Desert sonny. As for the flag...I have no problem with the flag. Only with assholes that wrap themselves in it to feel safe. As for your button Sodomite free zone? I can see why...when was the last time you bathed? Now if you don't move I will call Seattle Police and file a complaint. I am sure there is something in City laws regarding hate speech. Got it?" It was at that moment...A longtime customer...6'6' 300 lbs of 100% pure muscle (SPD as well). Said Gbnc "is ma man here givin you trouble?"...I said no Officer D. "He was just leaving"...and leave he did.

If the shithead comes back Officer D will take care of him. I took care of Officer D a fine upstanding liberal. He had Dinner free...gratis...on me! Told him it was the least I could do for his help.

...the last Thursday in July on Talk of the Nation...they had a general on the air, and every time someone called in about the troops being treated poorly he went into this riff about how noble the troops were and how important it was to support the troops. It was such a blatant diversion from reality...a nail, the head of which you've really hit.

The government IS treating them poorly...they're expensive capital expenditures in the US's little game of increasing profits for Haliburton and Bechtel, and we're trying to increase the profit margin by not taxing coporations a little more to feed them, give them water, and by making them do really evil things in the name of American capitalism (or, more accurately, American socialism for the wealthy).

When you hear this "support the troops" crap, it's just a tool the right wing uses to cover the fact that hollow patriotism is no substitute for actually supporting the troops by feeding them, paying them, and not putting them in harm's way for the sake of fascistic American imperialism.

It was a sight to behold. The icing on the cake was Officer D walking up. He is a hell of a nice guy! He is also quite protective of the community. He knew shit head freeper was there to cause trouble. Told me so when he came in the store.

Perhaps we should print cards that we use whenever we see one of these creeps. They would have details on the veterans' benefits that this administration is cutting. We should also reprint some of the newspaper articles about how the troops aren't getting basic supplies because the privatized contractors are AWOL.

I once saw an "anti-sodomite" holding a sign in front of our local school...in a neighborhood that has been rebuild with a big helping hand from its large gay population...and in a school system that boasts some fine educators, many of them gay...

The strange thing was this guy looked like a certain type of gay stereotype. If it hadn't been for the sign I would have assumed that he was gay...
