Info on Bustamante(I think that's how you spell it)
He seems to be the favorite California candidate here at DU, I know nothing about where he stands on the issues. Can you help me out on educating me where Bustamante stands on the Issues.

2. He is vigorously pro- organized labor
and forced Davis to sign a bill making corporate farms honor previous agreements signed by labor when the farms were privately owned.

His is against raising fees on the UC California system to recoup funds for the state and favors progressive taxation rather than increased fees on the middle class and increased vehicle license fees that hurt everyone.

He was very instrumental in bringing to light a deal made between Cal Trans officials and the private sector back during the Wilson years that precluded the state from making improvements (even safety improvements) to highways that would cause the state to COMPETE with the private toll road investors ( a mistake that cost us dearly in safety improvements and smelled of collusion)

He is PRO environment and since the governor appoints to the coastal commission this is a very big deal.

3. He doesn't stand for a lot of things that I want in a candidate but,
as Lt. Governor, he is the next in line should Davis not be able to complete his term. So to even have other candidates on the ballot seems like cheating to me. Therefore, in order to overturn this putsch, coup or whatever you want to call it, and maintain what is left of our law, I have decided to vote for Bustamante just in case. I think many Californians feel like me.
