"we'll raise our glasses against evil forces""
What a garbage verse from Toby Keith, what a fantasy. As if we are in a pitched battle with attackers. Why did Willie Nelson agree to sing this propaganda piece with Toby Keith? Why? It sickens me to think there are millions of morons who get "proud" when they hear this song, imagining they are in some epic period of good vs. evil, and they are on the side of good. How sickening to have to live among people like this, where their minds are so warped as to see and hear things that just are NOT THERE. Take the Chimpy jet-fighter doll...looks nothing like Bush, with the grown-up, firm, steadfast features...physically un-similar to Smirk...yet people will look at the doll and swoon over how steely and resolved Bush is...and actually see Bush in that dolls features...their brains are actually re-interpreting REAL visual images and modifying themm to fit the their ideas...when they look at Bush, the face they see is that of the doll.
"Oh you are just being silly." Well, you should be as silly. Because it is a fact...there is mass dementia on a scale not seen since the 30's in Germany. Chris Matthew and G. Gordon Liddy in unashamed homo-erotic glee on national TV over the "bulge" in the morons costume....not even embarrassed at their uncontrollable excitement by the event. The signs of a nation in the grip of insanity is everywhere. If we see a man who claims he is under attack by his enemies, and we observe for a while and see he is not under attack, do we not atribute his paranioa to mental disturbance?
Exactly.
The brazen directness of the manipulation via 9/11, accomplished in unchallenged ease, routing any anger by the few into impotence, is startling. There is a lull, but REAL bad times are still on the way... Iraq is not enough. Not now, not ever.

1. "I'm not your destiny, or the Devil, either! . . .
said Howard Campbell, Jr., in Kurt Vonnegut's Mother Night.

There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason to ever hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too. Where's evil? It's that large part of every man that wants to hate without limit, that wants to hate with God on its side. It's that part of every man that finds all kinds of ugliness so attractive. It's that part of an embecile that punishes and vilifies and makes war gladly."

2. This song...
Makes my teeth itch. Allusions to lynching and vigilante justice? Yep, just throw it in the song.

On the other hand, Willie prolly just needed the money.

I'll say it again: This song just makes my teeth itch. I didn't even know it was Toby Keith.
