How is the relationship between Turkey and the Iraqi population?

I suspect that Turkey is going to come into Iraq to try and protect the Iraq/Turkey oil pipeline very soon. I know the Kurds will go wild over this, but how will the Shiite's and Sunni's feel about it. Do the Turks like or get along with these people? I am truly ignorant on this subject. Will the Turks help or will it be like pouring gas on a fire if they go into Iraq? Thanks in advance for any information on this subject.
