Who rebuilds the Grid?
I would guess that Halliburton would somehow be involved in the rebuilding of "The Grid". It's wonderful to watch the legislators duck and weave after having deep sixed legislation in the past that would have gone a long way in preventing blackouts and grid-lock. It's so curious that the main focus of this administration is energy. Maybe there are no coincidences.

1. Big returns little investments
ENRON was interested in transfering money not energy. They had no interest in infastructure. Deregulation is a quick way to steal money and allow the system to degrade until the cheap and quick bandaids and gerryrigging is put under a crisis and it collapses. Government regulation and investment is a must for reliable energy!

2. grid
There are no coincidences where this administration is concerned. Fleecing Californians was a major role in this admin. The legislation should have, and I think would have, if the Repubs. had pulled Anwar out of the bill. We know they would never do that. So they can blame the Democrats in congress. I have been wearing my tinfoil hat for a long time now. My first thought when the blackout happened is that some G. Gordon Liddy was hired to do it on purpose. We know that this administration will do ANYTHING to get its way. I know this seems farfetched, but it how I am thinking right now. Andy Card got ahead of himself with the product being brought out a little early this time. I don't believe any investigation will bring this out. They took us into Iraq with lies. Why should we think they wouldn't sabotage our grids?

3. I'm not one for conspiracy theories
Something just stinks about this. The manner in which they immediately came out and said this was not terrorism, but their assumption was based on a lightning stike up North. Now they are blaming Ohio lines. How do they know it wasn't terrorism??? Domestic terrorrism?

4. Oh, you're not tinfoiling
This is all apart of the Republican plan to privatize everything....everything. If they can't privatize it outright, they'll let it degenerate to the breaking point so that only privatizing it would save it.

The Clinton administration tried several times to get something done about this, the Republican congress blocked it every time for 2 reasons. One, so Clinton wouldn't get credit for doing something (how very kindergarten of them), and two, so it would slowly decay and finally break allowing them to hand it fully over to their CEO buddies.

8. Even paranoids have enemies
I've got to tell you that with all the stuff that's going down with this administration you just can't take anything for granted.

CNN had the owner of the website,"howthingswork" (sorry, I missed the link) on this morning who was saying something like how all kinds of events had to come together simotaneously for this tho happen: three major lines going down at one time; broken/nonfunctional warning alarms; backup systems that either were unmanned or didn't work"

I tell you, it doesn't take much for me to pull out the tin foil hat with the bunch that's running the country now.

6. I'm curious.
Has Mayor Bloomberg retracted his "Blame Canada" statements of a few days ago? <insert South Park reference here>
