Opinions please...
Edited on Sun Aug-17-03 05:41 PM by SimpleMan
I hope I can get some of your opinions on this.

Friday afternoon, a local (right wing) radio personality was going on and on about how horrible it would be for Hillary to become President in 2008...and that we should all do something to prevent her from running. During his rant, he was taking calls from some of the knuckle draggers in the area. Almost everyone that called agreed that we should fear Hillary (I never got a reason why, BTW).

Anyhow, one caller called and I have paraphrased it here:

-----------

Caller: We need to make sure "Hitlery" NEVER gets nominated for President.

DJ: By any means necessary...

Caller: We can't take that chance. If she gets nominated, she might win. We HAVE to prevent it.

DJ: By any means necessary...

Caller: I say, if we can't knock her out using soap box, and we can't trust the ballot box, we could always go get a little help from the "CARTRIDGE BOX."

DJ: By any means necessary...

----------

This was an obvious reference to assasinating the ex-First Lady (and present Senator from NY). And hearing this really got to me. Hearing the DJ agree made it many times worse. I tried to call the station to complain, but it was after hours by that time. This radio conversation happened at 5:19 pm, so the office at the station had closed for the weekend. It is a Cumulus station, BTW...right in the heart of Scarborough Country.

Here's where I need your opinions:

Am I making too much of this?

If not, what can I say or do to make them even take notice?

BTW, this guy has banned any calls from my phone number to his show. We never did see eye to eye any time I called. ;)

On edit: Here is the guy's information, if any of you have a wild hair and want to contact him.

1. report it to the FBI...There are laws against threating
anyone with death. That is a death threat if I have ever seen one.

9. You're right, dork
However, the next thing you'd hear from this *ssh*le DJ would be what a victim he is.

I'd write a letter to the station that while it's okay to vehemently disagree with HRC and try to keep her from holding office, making threats against her life is against the law.

BTW, I think it would be the Secret Service to call. They're still protecting her, I think.

13. well whenever there is a threat against a first lady or the
prez or formers, they track them. Now if the threat is big enough I think they tell the FBI so they can be arrested. There is like a system of major threats, medium threats and minor threats...um hang on.

This shows what they are suppose to do.

3. This is very serious
You should contact the Secret Service, and report this. Tell them what station and time the call was, and tell them what was said. Hillary Clinton, as a U.S. Senator and wife of a former president is protected by the Secret Service, and threats like this are taken seriously by that outfit.

7. What station, DJ's name?
I'd like to say I don't believe it but I do.

One of our local idiots did the same thing in regard to a local war protester.
Pat Snyder of 550 AM in central Wisconsin, he recently broke both legs and an arm after leaving a strip club on his motorcycle drunk as a skunk, wrapped it around a tree.

8. Here's the FBI's tip page
https://tips.fbi.gov/

I don't know if it's appropriate, but here's what it says at the top:

While the FBI continues to encourage the public to submit information regarding the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, this form may also be used to report any suspected criminal activity to the FBI.

It should be investigated. You can't do that against anyone, let alone a former first lady.

32. Thank you...
I'll see if I can get a copy. I will definitely call Senator Clinton's office tomorrow...either way.

I hope that some of us here can call him during his program tomorrow too. I will be listening. Plus, anyone that wants to call his office would be wonderful. :)

I'm not sure who his advertisers are...but I will find out. And I'll also try to find a good e-mail address. I wonder if luke@lukemccoy.com might not get to him. Hmmmm....

oops, wrong mc coys. my google turned up very little on the guy but had 80% of 19 pages on the luke mc coy from the real mc coys (richard crenna just died this spring.)

anyway, all i could find was a reference to his show in some florida supreme court hearing about a ruling on a judge. i don't speak "legal" but it seems pretty innocuous.
