Private Jet Business Picks Up - MSNBC
Just a snippet:

"According to the National Business Aviation Association, the number of fractional jet owners has grown from 3,834 in 2000 to 5,827 in 2002"

http://www.msnbc.com/news/953670.asp?0cv=CB20

And now the rich have even MORE cash to pay for it - thanks to their friend at 1600 Pennsylvania.

1. Yes, the trickle down economics is the wealthy pissing on
everyone else...sending accounts overseas and jobs overseas to avoid decent wages and taxes...same thing happened in the 80s during RayGun..
and its even worse now.

2. not all that surprising
Actually, I would think that this would be an expected result of the increased hassle of commercial air travel since the introduction of TSA. Those who travel frequently, almost all of which are business travellers, have to spend a much larger amount of non-productive time in airports than they used to. Airlines have also cut back on flights adding to inconvenience. What this will do is push some business travellers from commercial air travel to chartered planes and will also cause some businesses to buy shares in private planes to facilitate travel by their employees. One company that I do business with has added to its fleet of corporate aircraft in order to ferry their technicians to remote locations. It's not just the top executives that are flying in private aircraft these days.

Frankly, were the government to set out to deliberately kill the commercial airlines, I don't think it could come up with a better approach than TSA to do the job.
