Food as politics: A peek into our future?
Edited on Mon Aug-18-03 06:35 AM by panzerfaust

In Zimbabwe, choosing your political affiliation is a matter of life or death … Political abuse of food is the most serious and widespread human rights violation in Zimbabwe at present (Nov 02)… if it not possible to increase non-partisan food supplies into the country, then starvation and … death would occur along party political lines … "We conclude that in the last four months, manipulation of food was directly related to elections. The threat of being deliberately starved by the government if the opposition won votes, was used to profoundly influence vulnerable rural voters in recent elections …"

It is not very difficult to imagine the current Republican Party taking this step. Indeed, when you look at the slashes being made in social programs, it is happening now. The Compassionate Conservative program is simply not as crude as that described in this article from the Pambazuka News (Pambazuka is Kiswahilian for "New Dawn"), but it is based on the same callous, self-serving and arrogant disregard for Life, Liberty, and Democracy.

1. Oh yes, Imperial Amerika 2100 has much to look forward to
that our Brother and Sister Third World Countries "enjoy."

Why do I call them our "brother and sister" Third World Countries?

Because we officially stopped belonging to the Free World after the Bloodless Coup of 2000 and the Hitlerian aftermath (policially, not violence-wise) of 9-11 and the fact that one-third of the nation has electronic Stalin machines to do their voting for them.

It is going to suck for 90% of the poeple toiling in Imperial Amerika 2100.
