Are they joking? What response could they be refering to. Why aren't they asking about the timing of this black-out. Was jumping to blame Canada an adequate response? Now they have just been rolling the blame around the country.
Until they blame the putting our utilities in private greedy hands the response will not be adequate. This include taking steps to return the utilities in this country back to the public.

1. different question....now it's the blame game
with 72% voting that no one will be held accountable.

I requested they feature an interview with Greg Palast.

2. The people's response was great
and was the reason things didn't get out of hand.

3. Back to the 1st Question
Response adequate?

Let's see: 1) Shrub did NOTHING to reassure the public, only addressed the issue belatedly and on tape, looking drunk.

2) The Energy Secty was literally asleep, overseas, symbolically for being ASLEEP AT THE SWITCH.

3) The affected public was literally out on the street, and as somebody posted here, completely vulnerable to being gassed or whatever.

4) Nothing but FORMER Energy Secty Bill RICHARDSON all over the Shrub media, giving the opening for BLAMING CLINTON. As the CNN anchor said to RICHARDSON, "Why wasn't this taken care of while YOU were there?"

Is the question rhetorical yet?

4. Did my time during the blackout
camped outside Grand Central Station. I can tell you what the hundreds of people there were saying.

Immediately stating this wasn't terrorism was a mistake. New Yorkers looked at eachother and said "How could they possibly know that at this point?". I have to say, in the many people I spoke to, not one Bush supporter was brave enough to say he/she was a Bush supporter.

As far as Bloomberg; he made a statement early on saying it would be hours, not minutes to fix. Also a mistake. I, along with countless others, headed to GCT thinking the lights would be on by 9-10pm. We got put on trains at 3:15am before the lights came on...we went on diesel trains and they immediately suspended service after the sidewalks around the station were clear of people.

Things were very calm. Didn't even see anyone lose their temper. There were police everywhere and I guess after 9/11, the lights going out wasn't such a big deal but THE PEOPLE OF NEW YORK handled the situation beautifully.
