But THEN - she made them SPEECHLESS! Ducker Carlson was screwing up words if you were listening - she had him so frightened that he was verbally dylexic..

SHE SLAMMED THEM - hell, some of what she was coming up with was way more ballsy than anyone but Carville, who gets really out there slamming the table and yelling.. she was much more reserved than usual but so sane and honest that she had them off kilter..

She is to far left for me. I want to make one thing clear, I am a moderate conservative who recently registered as a Democrat because I am dissatisfied with Bush's policies even though I voted for him in 2000 and every republican since 1988. I am very unpopular in this state because of the war, I notice alot of "Support the Troops" Signs in people's front lawns. Over here in my state, it basically means "Support the War". I don't agree with the war, I voted for Bush to restore honesty and integrity, but I find him more dishonest then Clinton. I was tolerating alot of the stuff he was doing, I didn't like the latest tax cut bill but I did support the first which was a reason why I voted for him. I tolerated alot of what he was doing in Iraq but disagreed with it. The main reason why I changed is when I seen families with sons and daughters over in Iraq on C-span, I actually felt really bad for them and alot of them were offended over the "Bring 'em on" remark and alot of them said Bush lied to them. I think we should support the troops by not lying to there families and send them home. I hope I will be welcomed here even though we may have disagreements, but since I recently registered as a Democrat, I am officially a democrat.

Thanks for welcoming me here, I found this website through a search engine, it seemed like a good website to go to. I didn't see any name calling which is VERY rare at a message board.

I am just wondering what makes you identify yourself as a moderate conservative. Is it a social stance, economic stance, or both maybe?
Im just trying to get an idea as to where you are coming from.
But it is very good to see that Bush is disgusting not just the liberals.

I think it is my stance on Abortion, Guns, balanced budgets, I was extremely anti-gay till Matthew Shepard was murdered in my hometown. I seen alot of gay and lesbian groups over here in this town. I started talking to a few and really had a change of heart so I am pro-gay rights which is how I am moderate. Another reason why I am moderate is because if I feel someone is doing a bad job even if he is a republican, I am willing to dump him. On balanced budgets, I believe that the government shouldn't take too much of our money and they should SPEND IT WISELY which Bush isn't doing. There is so much more.

One of my biggest problems is with these so-called conservatives out there who are so caught up in the tax cuts that they fail to notice or care about all the spending that is going on.
Its also nice to see that you are willing to step back and take a look at your views, such as your change in viewpoint on homosexuality.

Something that I feel I should point out is that the left end of the spectrum is not anti-gun, as many on the right would love to say.
We have many self-professed "gun nuts" here. Personally, I am for some sort of gun control along the lines of firearm registration, but I believe that anyone who wants to own guns and has a clean record should be allowed to. I only start to get suspicious when people want to own assault rifles and fully automatic weapons.

I think if you stick around here you will find that this place is not a hotbead of radical liberals as some may think. There are many more moderates here than you would think and even a few rather conservative thinkers.

Even at DU, the Democrats have not learned to walk in lock step, yet. I look forward to your participation and I'm sure that we'll disagree on some things. If your arguments are sound and reasonable I'll always consider them.

Welcome to DU. I'm waaaaay left of you, tho an avid supporter of Howard Dean (can you tell?), but I'm thrilled that there are principled conservatives who are abandoning Bush. maybe the reason he is moderate is because Bush won 70% of the state in the 2000 election and is not close to being a "democrat" state. He recently signed an Executive Order Support Wyoming Military. It basically ensures someone if they leave behind a job to join the military, when they return they get to go back to their job and the pay he/she was getting when the individual decided to leave. I may vote for him in the next election, it depends on what he does in the next 3 coming years.

It certainly is refreshing to hear someone being so open and honest about changing their affiliation. Wyoming is a Republican state - a lock - even more so than Colorado (fewer left-coast transplants). But you certainly have a ton of integrity to think for yourself and swim upstream on the current administration.

I hope you are treated well here, my friend. Yes, you'll see and hear your share of fringe-left, but overall you're likely to read many people here who agree with you on the same issues you bolted from the Republican party over.

But I finally got my computer to load the whole ad last night. I had to go off and cry for a good 15 minutes, but I sent you a $20 donation afterwards.

Hits me harder than some because I've been connected to military members all my life. I looked at it and saw people I knew in that last image, including my own husband. That on top of the water rationing just infuriated me beyond belief.

Do know that this is a place where a lot of progressives meet, so don't be offended if you get challenged a few times.

But, I think we all can agree that Bush is bad for this country and this world.

I hope you aren't in the path of any wildfires out there. I heard today that the East entrance to Yellowstone is closed. Good luck to all the Wyomians (is that a word?) and Montanans (how about that word?).
