. . .candidate as a running mate? I really don't think its going to happen. I think whoever gets the nod will probably choose someone from outside the current crop of candidates. I think the last time this happened was when Reagan chose Bush.

2. I don't see it happening.
The way that the primaries are run, the candidates are adversaries for the top job, and have usually said at least one or two disparaging things about each other along the way.
and egos get in the way.

3. Egos aside. . .
. . .I also think in today's climate the opposition will try to drive a wedge between the nominee and his running mate by bring up what they said about each other in the primary.

4. Bob Graham is the Most Likely

because of Florida.

However, one thing in favor of a presidential candidate is that they are likely to be clean. Any skeletons in the closet are more likely to have come out already. Supposedly that was one factor in Clinton's choosing Gore.

There's also another factor: most candidates do NOT want a VP with too much stature or charisma. That led to the observation that Lloyd Bentson should have been on the top of the ticket with Dukakis as the VP. And most potential VP candidates would not want to play second fiddle to someone they feel is an equal or inferior. That's one reason McGovern had so much trouble finding a running mate -- he was convinced Ted Kennedy would accept.

5. Graham may do it if he thinks it will really make a difference..
I think it's apparent that Graham hates smirk and is deperate to get rid of him.
