College course; "Bush Against the World"
Offered at UNC-Greensboro this Fall-$58

Bush Against the World: U.S. Foreign Policy in the Current Administration

Dates: September 30 - October 21
4 Tuesdays, 7-8:30 pm
Instructor: Rudolph Zarzar, Ph.D.

"This four-part course will critically analyze U.S. foreign policy under the Bush Administration. The instructor will deal with the "Bush Doctrine" and its impact on the conduct of foreign policy. Classes two and three wil deal with the Arab-Muslim and the European world's reaction to and attitudes toward the new policy. The final class will include some recommendations for foreign policy changes with a focus on restoring the U.S. to its former stature and leadership in the world."

Very tempted to go back!

3. Go for it! It's worth the $58.
I wonder if they'll be any mention of the PNAC and how their philosophy is represented in our government? 9/11 got me interested in politics, especially foreign policy. That led to my discovery of PNAC. Come to think of it, I don't see how you can have an honest look at our current foreign policy without checking into the PNAC. If you take this course and the professor doesn't mention it, ask him about it. It would be interesting to hear what he has to say.

5. Sounds like a bargain if you are close enough to attend.
Many profs these days put their syllabi up on their websites, and only occasionally are these restricted to registered students. MIT actually has a policy of letting anyone take their web classes for free (though I think that you can't get a degree that way).

I'm going to look for Prof. Zarzar's webpage, though it probably isn't up yet. Just a reading list is a good way to find material one may have missed and to organize ideas.

7. They are part of the UNC system
and UNC-CH has online courses so they probably do too. May not be included.
It may be possible to audit it though with permission of the instructor.
