I'm removing my tinfoil hat for this one, because...
1. This does more harm to the Bush administration than good. All of the news reports that I heard focused on the total lack of security in Iraq, and on the fact the US may soon be forced to except help from countries (France, Germany, etc.) that will demand a piece of the pie.

2. This was a huge attack that occured after several days of no US deaths in Iraq. I suspect that a fair majority of Americans were starting to forget about Iraq, and our bogus reasons for invading, in favor of Kobe and Arnie. Plus, if the Bushites were after one guy, why not just shoot him in the street? There would have been a LOT less publicity than if they killed at least 20 people.

3. A US Congressional delegation was 10 miles away. Think they'll be likely to report back that everything's hunkie-dory in Iraq?

To put this in context, I am a LIHOP believer and a MIHOP suspector (is that a word?), and I also suspect that the Wellstone and Kelly deaths are not what they appear. So I definately wear my tinfoil hat at times.

3. I WISH I thought you were flaking out, but . . .
I've come to the conclusion that nothing is beyond the scope of the misadministration.

And I survived the Reagan years . . .

4. right now, short of some truly huge disaster or success,
any news that includes the word "Iraq" is a bad news for George Dubya Shitforbrains.

5. Bush wants Iraqs oil.
The UN wil make him share if the take charge which is exacly where this is headed if he loses in 04. Bush needs the UN out of his business in Iraq or his adventure is a failure for PNAC.

The only thing that makes me doubt the PNACers did it is the posibility. that several US reps were suposed to have been at the hotel.

Iraq is already chaos. It probably will be until we leave. PNAC is prepaired for that. They are not prepaired to share the spoils with France and Russia or any other country.

6. Right on, Sterling. BFEE doesn't want U.N. running the show!
They aren't about to share the spoils!

7. The UN would not overtly shill for Halliburton
so they do not fit into Bushco or the PNAC vision of Iraq.

Still, they potentially have a useful role in handling some of the nasty humanitarian stuff that just gets in Bushco's way and cuts into Halliburton's profits.

We need US troops there as enforcer though.

8. But the BFEE only works if Bush remains in office.
This event does not help his prospects.

9. That is so not true.
The BFEE is not part time. They did a lot in the 90s. Being in the whitehouse is critical for certain phases of the agenda but not for others.

The fact that Dean and others are suggesting they may turn Iraq over to the UN is reason enough for the BFEE to want the UN to be unwilling to stay. This attack furthers that agenda without question.

10. In the 80s they had REPUBLICAN presidents!
Including, at all times in some capacity, George Bush Sr! Since no Republicans are challenging Bush, he can only be replaced by a Democrat (or Lieberman). Thus, if Bush losses, the BFEE is OUT!

11. My thought was that it would cause them to stay for sure
in order to investigate and rebuild. I can't believe anyone imagines this will make the UN run away...But I'm not BFEE. I suppose they could think this was a good move for them somehow, the psycho mofos.

This definitely resembles an Al Queda attack, but then who are they?
Half of me is convinced they're a branch of the CIA or the like, an asset, as they say.

If no one claims responsibility, I would suspect Al Queda. If Iraqis say they did it, then we'll know, perhaps. But maybe not. I am depressed about how many lies and liars are involved in this mess. Bremer, for example. Does anybody believe a word that Kissinger Clone says?
