Gray Davis has an uprecedented opportunity to present the whole enchilada to the American people, wrapping up all the recent political/electoral theft attempts by the RW in nice, neat Clinton influenced package. That's a REALLY good thing about this, in a twisted way...Davis has the biggest megaphone right now of any Dem or possibly anyone in the country. When he speaks, everyone's listening right now and the whole country is hearing about the neo-con coup of our electoral system and how it's ALL related, Florida, TX, California...They're getting a big dose of delicious truth force-fed to them Clinton Style!

Talked about the Republicans hating losing elections, and how they are doing what they can to overturn said elections.

Also mentioned Florida and Texas.

He called them on their lies -- one in particular about Gray trying to hide the deficit.

Gray says state law provides that that information to available to the public, at all times.

Clinton is still popular here. i am hoping he makes a few PUBLIC talks as well..that will get Dems off their asses.

In this case it's like a cleansing...bringing up and out all this stuff that needs to be talked about and all Californians need to know!

ususally Clinton's popularity or unpopularity rubs off on other candidates. This time, I think it will be the other way around for Clinton. Why would he want to have anything to do with Davis?

Always has been. Why would Clinton want to be involved? I would think that would be obvious...

Standing by someone in trouble is hardly likely to soil him.

But if you're afraid of some nasty spillover, you can just go sit in the corner and cower over there.

One thing Bill Clinton isn't, is gutless.

I hope he'll come out swinging -- not because I'm so crazy about him (tho I don't really know CA politics) -- but because this fascism has to be stopped in its tracks.

in the universe that will put this all right-eventually.The forces of karma,something I don't know what.But when a liar lies he has to cover too many bases and I hope that is what happens to the GOP RW takeover.They won't be able to put their finger in every hole in the dyke before it all rushes over them-big time.I can't wait...It's something that has been a long time coming since oh say Ken Starr IMO

for anyone to control. That's one of the weaknesses of the Repub smash and grab tactics. They're all for creating chaos and using it to grab control in the aftermath. That's what they're doing in California, but it can be used against them. The cameras are all turned in that direction and now ANYTHING can be said. Davis/Clinton are using the game against them, changing the topic right in front of the cameras from the recall, to repub power abuse and putting them on the defensive...

It's been so easy to get angry, disgusted, and depressed about this whole circus. However, you're absolutely right and I appreciate how you've pointed out the unexpected bright side of this situation.

I didn't catch the Davis speech this evening yet, but will be looking for the transcript and spreading memorable, quotable parts of it far and wide.

Let's all do our part to (as you put it so well), help provide "a big dose of delicious truth force-fed to them Clinton Style!"
