Anybody else think those congressional jaunts to Iraq will slow down?

While I haven't paid close attention, I've noticed a few clusters of congresscritters going to the newly conquered Iraq, being shown around a few "secure" spots by the military and coming back giving interviews and pronouncing in ever-so-somber-and-wise tones how everything is going according to plan, but things will be fine and yes it will take a while, but the Iraqis are all so glad we are there (except those dubbed "deadenders" by Rumfilled). The people conducting these interviews are oh-so-respectful and slurp up the propaganda from these morons who have gone off on a two day jaunt and probably know less than they did before they went over there.

As I understand it from the media reports today, another cluster of these congresscritters was scheduled to be at the UN building today at the time of the bomb blast but were late due to plane trouble and were in Jordan when the bomb went off. (I've lost my tinfoil hat and believe this bombing was like the one two weeks ago at the Jordanian Baghdad embassy and was done by Iraqis who want to rid their country of all those well-intentioned infidels sitting in offices and planning their country's future).

Anyway, does anyone else predict that this little jaunt to IraqNam will become a less popular port of call on the next congressional jaunt's itenerary, it being a bit risky and all.

Scare out the journalists, scare out the aid organizations and scare out the occupying powers’ public representatives. Who remains watch over the subjugation of the Iraqi people?

Won't this just provide more cover for the PNAC-cle players who will justify their presence to "protect" the Iraqi oil asset? Won't the occupation be easier to justify, then if there was no terror acts in Iraq?

I don't know how I'd feel if I were a citizen of Baghdad...I really don't.

It helps those who wish Iraq to remain dependent on an occupying power that is not (and shouldn't be) up to the task of its charge. If I was a citizen of Iraq I would feel used.
