Today's disasters abroad coupled with the disaster that IS the bush administration reminded me of this old chestnut:

The guy's laying on his deathbed with his wife at his side. He begins to recount their life together..."we met during the war, times were tough...the 50s & 60s were no picnic, what with the blacklisting and the hippies...the 70s when the kids were so rebellious...the 80s when I lost my job and we lost the house...the 90s when we moved to Florida and our new house got demolished by that hurricane...and now, I'm dying. And you, my wife, have been next to me the whole time...

"I tell you, you've been nothing but a damn jinx!"
