Other than Ted Rall and Molly Ivins,
what current "journalists" and pundits don't suck?

How much of a voice do they have?

Are they mainstream, easy to find, or does one have to be pretty diligent to search them out?

What about non-US sources that are fair and reliable?

5. good list
Krugman is great.

I wish we had 50 Altermans.

Bill Press has impressed me more and more lately. I used to find him to be a little to Alan Colmes-ish, but I was wrong. It helps that Buchanan (who is wrong about almost everything) is at least a principled conservative.

Helen has been a pillar in the White House press corps, but you have to be a press conference junkie to realize that.

13. From what I read, it was more that he was backing up Nachman
Who is recovering from being very ill. Press has been totally against the war before last night.

You gotta understand that Press came into politics studying for the Priesthood (IIRC), so there was probably a bit of charity for Nachman involved last night.

10. Anthony Lewis...
Is pretty great. Though Dave Barry is especially good for a great laugh, he also knows how to "tell it like it is" when needed. And Russell Baker the same. Along with the folks afore-mentioned in this thread, of course!:D

In addition to all of her OTHER redeeming qualities, Molly Ivins also knows Dub like no other nationally-syndicated columnist by virtue of where she's from, making her observations of his idiosyncracies ESPECIALLY juicy! :7

B-)

21. Man you guys are good! DU rocks.
Palast, Conason and Moyers have been pillars of rational discourse through some very dark times.

I'd also add the Parry's at consortiumnews. I think Robert Parry's Lost History is a great expose of the foundations of the mess we're in now.
