Clark's first declaration
"On behalf of all those who have been killed, injured, or lost defending the greatest nation in history, I call on Resident Bush to stop using phrases like 'I learned in Viet Nam...' and 'I've been to war...'. Those of us who have actually been shot at don't appreciate things like that"

I would like to see him fire on * 24/7, until the little creep gets so desperate that he does something even the fundies can't ignore.

Smirk's worst nightmare - actually having to work for something - is about to begin.

6. If I were writing his bits...
...this would be the first phase out of his mouth after his hat is in the ring.

Here are a few more

"Staging a photo op aboard a carrier that had already been out to sea for six months, with a banner reading 'Mission Accomplished' while our guys and girls are still living in horrible conditions and being attacked every day, is beyond disrespectful, it's contemptible"

"While our soldiers spent August in tents in dusty 125 degree weather, Mr. Bush spent it in a golf cart. From experience I can tell you that it is hard for a soldier to respect something like that".

Being a speechwriter for the General would be more fun than being a masseur for the Swedish women's golf team.

9. You're on to something
especially the "experience" to "respect" line. Keep beating that drum.

3. Clue
Edited on Wed Aug-20-03 11:36 AM by 11cents
I would say the use of a DU phrase like "Resident Bush" is a sure tipoff of wishful thinking!

4. Smirk aint smart enough to realize
how much trouble he is in (and our country for that matter). Rove is the one who is worried. His trolls should be around here soon, perhaps already in the "Clark announces ...(Brazille)" thread.

As far as the military issue is concerned, Clark's service to our country is such a powerful anti-shrub device, that it doesnt even need to be mentioned. Clark in his dress uniform or Shrub the monkey in a flight suit? No contest. Bush is going to buried in a fifty state landslide.

5. Kerry/Clark in 2004....and Clark would look so GOOD debating
used-car-salesman..death-warmed-over cheney....

cheney...."I had other priorities" and took FIVE deferments to avoid Vietnam....

vs. General Clark....stellar in his service to OUR Nation....

8. Nope, nope, nope
we should have learned in 1988 that the second spot on the ticket is of minimal importence. Clark should be at the top, followed by Edwards (who worked his way up from nothing), Kerry (another war hero) or Graham (same).

10. Yep
He already did make some very powerful comments about the aircraft carrier incident. I'll see if I can find them and post them here.
