* has rained too much doom and gloom to make Arnold palatable to CA voters
Arnold was hu-rahhed in red, white and blue on the talkies (not Letterman, the other one...), on Time, on Newsweek, and by the Bushies as though it were Republican National Convention confetti time. It's not. The UN was bombed, highlighting, by now in nearly everyone's mind, the US' having committed its troops to a doomed and desperate situation, bankrupting US coffers and mortgaging America's future to boot. There is no Israel/Palestinian peace process (nor was Bush ever committed to one), but there is an all out dedication to making good on vendettas for all eternity. The lights went out in half the country for no apparent reason, at least not one that most Americans can explain, and nobody within the Bush administration (has Spencer Abraham been located yet?) can make any guarantees that it won't happen again. Ridge is promising more terror attacks against the US any moment, keeping everyone on a constant state of alert. Yet Rove, Leno, and Arnie expect Americans to laugh, joke and make chitchat about the most recent upending of democracy (I already voted against Simon once) like it's Super Bowl time.

I think Arnie's comic timing is off. The mood of Californians now matches the dark clouds the Bush administration has hung over the country ever since Inauguration Day.

My prediction: Arnie is toast if the fiasco called "an election" is ever held, and may each movie he makes from here on out win the Raspberry Award it so richly deserves.

2. sledgehammer versus flea!
just what's in public record is enough to gag a hyhena....yet it is pablum to this creepy society of ours! consider:
1)the JFK assassination is accepted by most as a cold blooded political murder by secret gang in our government..
2)NORC results show bush not elected, and all the hassles that we experienced since election still thought of as seperately from main drama (takeover of USA by GOP)
3)the media is blatantly pro bush, yet it remains the news source of the herd
4)the american people were blackmailed into supporting the war vs iraq by sending 100k plus troops over before any legal way to use them
5)national debt worse then anyone imagines, yet plunge protection team operates w/out mention by mediawhores
6) the media are aggressively bush whores, but again....
7) 18081(?)
8) algore afraid of arousing class consciousness so drops out and disappears from news
9) the VRWC was well known fact, the impeachment of Clinton the result of it, yet no one cares
10) the foolish official story re 911 basically ignored (the 19 hijackers are many alive, the passport found in rubble, the ph call from olsen which id'ed the hijackers as arabs, CNN obviously prepared script)
11) the instant pronouncement that flight 587 crash was just accident, not terror....the same scenerio worked for the blackout (point is, the event themselves fill fox/cnn newstime, thinking they're terrorist acts just fuck up bushwaco, so mediawhores reassure the herd etc)
12) frist a cat torturer, now headman of gop
13) the hurryup quick cleanup of WTC site, the 'flipping of the WTC 3 times in weeks prior 911, the billions made in airline stock, the billionaire blomberg buying office of NY mayor, as if Ny'ers need more secretive backroom dealings to sort out!
13) and so on as kurt V use to say

3. Only number 1
generally persists in the national consciousness. Better get up to speed on the others because we can't be standing over our own graves saying "If I only knew." The war and the general clouds hanging over this wingnut administration is not well defined yet, but it is growing potentially decisive.

4. Re: "7) 18081(?)"
It's 18181 which could be read as 'ahaha' and which showed up as the difference in the number of votes for opposing candidates in three or more precincts in (I believe) Texas in the 2002 elections.

Coincidence?

As others have said, we sure do have a lot of 'coincidence theorists' here...

5. I think that there's probably alot of weariness of Republicans
in CA. I agree with this. I hope it's enough to overcome the huge assist the media is providing Arnold.
