Can judge Moore be impeached?
He is not upholding his duty to follow the constitution.
What are the procedures to remove him from office?

2. I agree on this one
I think Moore is an embarassment to the judicial process when he puts the 10 commandments ahead of the constitution.

If Roy Moore wants to perform his judicial requirements based on the 10 commandments and the laws of the Old Testament (most notably those first 5 books of the bible) then he should join organizations like the Taliban or move to Saudi Arabia. These countries also recognize these documents AND run their government based on these outrageous laws.

Roy Moore would be a hero to the Taliban!

3. I don't know - the Alabama constitution is a wild thing
Since he is an elected official, I'm sure he can be impeached somehow, but that would require the Senate and House. Although both of these are in Democratic control, many of the representatives and Senators are from rural areas that support Moore heavily. So, this would be politically problematic for elected officials.

The more likely thing would be to have him disbarred - or defrocked - or whatever is done to a judge via non-political means. I wouldn't count on impeachment because of the nature of Alabama politics.

Moore might be an idiot but he is no fool. He is playing this thing to catapult him into higher office such as Governor or US House/US Senate. A large portion of my fellow Alabamaians eat this stuff up. They love the image of the Christian "David" against the Federal "Goliath". Remember, we have a long history of anti-federal feeling down here. This is how Moore got into the chief justice position in the first place. He thumbed his nose at orders to remove a 10 coms plaque in his district court room, and fought like hell in the news. He was a hero to many in Alabama.

Moore doesn't give a rat's ass what the citizens of the US think of him. All he cares about is what the extreme fundamentalist right thinks of him. They think he is a hero. This gives him lots of political weight down here.

So, impeachment may be possible but it isn't probable and Moore will ride this thing to higher office.

Count on it.

4. I think he'll be removed.
He's not acting as an official of the court anymore.

5. I hope so, but that will give him massive ammo for higher office
He is determined to turn this State into a version of Taliban controlled Afghanistan.

7. And this, my friends, is the truth about Alabama

Geez, no way this guy is going to be voted or impeached out of office.

This is the state that brings you Richard Shelby ( :puke: ) and Jeff Sessions ( :puke: :puke: :puke: ).

8. I was thinking the same thing.
The man could run for political office or open up a church, but he has shown himself as not being able to enforce the laws of his state.

9. I smell mandamus
A writ to do his duty. To ignore it would be to show contempt of court, and escalate the offense.

10. Judicial Review
It's "under consideration" now according to CNN. This should be a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. This guy has exceeded the boundaries of his office big time.
