Too left or too right ?
Another post noted how Joe Biden had said Howard Dean was too "far left" to be elected President. Just how damaging is this to the nominee of the Party, if it happens to be Dean or someone else "too left" for Biden's taste?

Especially, since the candidate he is criticizing is considered the present front-runner for the nomination. Of course, the same question would apply if someone was criticized as "too right-wing" but was leading the field as the possible nominee of the Party. How much damage can this do to the future nominee?

However, it should be noted there is a difference in you or me criticizing the candidates as "too left' or "too conservative" and people of high visibility, such as Joe Biden, criticizing the candidates in such a manner. There comments are shown to millions on television and read in tomorrow's papers - ours are not.

1. Biden has become too much a DINO whore
to be elected president.

I don't care what he thinks.

BUT, it is stupid (and further proof he is a DINO) for him to preemptively label a possible nominee this way.

If Dean were nominated I can already see the Rove ads featuring Joe Biden clips "too left to be PResident, too left to be President, too left to be President"

Biden is either an asshole or a fool. (or both)

3. Democrats shouldn't attack each other...
As too far left or too far right in public, however the anti-establishment radical liberal golden boy Dean has called his opponents Bushlite in public. DUers sure don't mind Dean implying his rivals are too far right in public.
