Poll question: Question for Clark Supporters
Edited on Fri Aug-22-03 04:15 PM by camcb
Who would you vote for? This question is for the general election, not the primaries.

3. The point
Is to see if Clark support is so high that Dem's would vote for him as a third party and thus over the Dem.

5. I think most of the Clark supporters are democrats
I think the point of this poll is if they would vote for Clark as an Independent over whoever the democratic candidate is. I will endorse the democrat over Dean if he runs as an independent or a third party contender.

9. Who? What is Clark?
Who? What is Clark? Even he doesn't know, at first he wasn't going to run. Then he didn't know if he should run as a democrat or a republican. Now he may run as an independent.
.
These last couple of years I've become word shy, it's as though everyone is reading from a script in a "B" movie, saying all the right things and never missing a punch line. promises promises promises..
.
I've also become very suspicious of ALL politicians never knowing if I'm listening to a real democrat or just another Zell Miller.
.
IMO the last thing this country needs is a "general" for president, especially a general that doesn't know which party to run under.
.
Well this isn't a movie and though Clark passes the screen test on looks, we are not casting a movie and we don't need photogenic hunks, we need someone that tells the truth and will work for the people. Frankenstein would be fine with me as long as he speaks the truth.
.
VOTE KUCINICH! One man CAN make a difference.

7. I think this a what-if scenario
since Clark is pondering on running, he may or may not run as a democrat since he has yet to declare party affiliation. He may run as an Independent.

8. No, he's not
He specifically said he wouldn't run as an independent or a third party candidate. Leaving aside the business about whether he's being unacceptably "coy," it's quite obvious now that he's running as a Democrat. (Last night on Hannity and Colmes he scolded Hannity for using the word "Democrat" as if it were an insult or a negative.)

15. The CrossFire Poll
Tucker almost fell off his chair when 30% of repubs said they would vote for Clark. Prehaps that is true of all of the Dem candidates, but I think Clark intends to do two things: 1) run to his strength as a Dem and capture the attention progressive indies 2) peel away disgruntled repubs. No other candidate that I know of has made that move. To do that, one has stay neutral as long as possible. BTW, we are nearing the end of this phase; however, he now owns the center. Pro-choice progressives can't be nominated by the repugs...but the actual party contains many of them. Welcoming their votes is making me smile. Taking away the foreign policy card will be hammered home over the course of the campaign. Rove must be some pissed...the nerve of someone going after republican votes.
