Actually I would not mind somebody from the right take on Bush and take some of his votes away! Bush and friends are not conservative in the classic sense, they are fascists! Plain and simple!

6. here's a guess
I didn't hear it, you did, so who knows if this is what she meant, but maybe it was that she sees how out of control the partisanship has become that government has become all-out war. Like the impeachment, the recall, the stolen election, the Fresno joke about bombing the liberals, Ann Coulter, etc. etc. Maybe her plan is the only way to stop the madness.

18. Better fusion than exclusion. We do have to live and work among
those we don't necessarily agree with. Compromise can be win/win. To be in power and yet be open to the viewpoint of your opponent is the objective of a democracy.

24. Admirable sentiments I often share, but
it's the left which always bends, accomodates, compromises. The result is little better than a slow-tracked right agenda. Enough, already. Time to be as partisan and hardnosed as the bad guys.

she said nothing about fusion.

i guess i was just ticked off after Clarks dipsey dooing around his being a dem. cripes...i live in repub hell and i'm not timid about declaring i'm a dem. his non-partisian ploy is wearing a bit thin and then to hear Janene say that, i got a little hot under the collar.

again, my apologies for taking it out on you.

Garafolo must not be as informed on the issues as many believe. While McCain gives in a little when it comes to pimping for the tobacco companies or the ethanol lobby, he is ultra-conservative on social and foreign policy issues.

childish and sophmoric implies slapstick or lowest-common-denominator humor. Al's humor is more of the sarcastic variety. Aside from Saturday Night Live, where have you seen him?

Or is it the fact that he tears right-wingers a new asshole what bothers you?

Have a young right winger as her foil. She could tear into the facists trying to ruin the USA. I love her courage. The right wing demonize us and question our patriotism and she puts herself in the hot seat. Where the hell are all the "liberals" in Hollywood right now. Where does Demi,Cameron,Will,Brad,Jennifer, etc stand. Or is that a fencepoll stuck up their ass.

Edited on Fri Aug-22-03 08:46 PM by sujan
are coming from the right. Take a look at reagan, GHB and GWB contrast that with BC, JC, GMcG, WM and MD. Nope nothing extreme about them at all. So I dont buy Miss Garofolo's argument about having a moderate democrat. Democrats are so moderate that this this 'moderation' is mistaken for 'whimpiness'. I say, we need a full blown socialist candidate from the democratic party. Need to pitch extremist of our own to fight theirs. That should scare the voters nough to vote rationally.

to most American voters if, say, Kerry or Dean or Clark joined forces with McCain. Think of the impact. Their message would be America First. That this country is in a world of shit and one way to solve that is if all patriots come together to serve the common good. I like the idea.

Go Janeane!

50. Trouble Is Even Mod Repugs Vote the Party Line
While in concept JG's statement seems like a good idea, the reality is that even moderate republicans like Lincoln Chafee of RI vote the party line the vast majority of the time.

Heck, even supposed moderate republican governors line up behind Bush - Romney in MA, Rowland in CT.

What has to be broken is the Stepford syndrome - elected officials have to think and act for themselves and their constituents and not be bullied into falling in line.
