Franken's "LIE's" is a MUST READ!
if you don't have it yet, drop what you're doing and go get it now!

you WON'T be disappointed... (and no, he's not paying me)...

not only have i laughed my ASS off so far, but franken is ripping our most hated folks a NEW ONE!

the chapter on o'reilly ALONE is worth the price of the book... i can so see why o'reilly pulled out all stops to hinder its publication... i never knew about the book o'reilly had written about an ex-tv person serial killer! good shit!

i can't believe how good this book is...

6. ....
I don't recall which chapter it was, but I THINK 25 is the Wellstone one, which isn't supposed to be funny. It's incredibly upsetting and infuriating.

4. I tried to buy it last night
Apparently B&N dropped the ball and did not get in on the early ordering after they moved the release date up.

I bought Conason's "Big Lies" instead, which is good so far. Even got me a new quote for my sig.

24. LOL... same thing for me at the local Borders
went to buy the book - it hadn't arrived (though the two workers I spoke with each KNEW about the book - when it was likely to arrive and how many (70 copies) were coming.

So I bought Conason's Big Lies. And a book on the dangers of the religious right.

9. Can't put it down
This book is awesome! Absolutely hilarious (I am driving my husband crazy reading every other paragraph to him) but jam packed with facts. I'm only about 1/3 done and he has aready torn apart Coulter, O'Reilly, Hannity and the "liberal media" myth regarding the 2000 pres election.
I've read "What Liberal Media" which covers some of the same ground, but this is much easier to read. I want to buy it for everybody I know - but to save money I guess I'll have to lend it to them.

Absolutely brilliant!

11. Should I get my car's oil changed or buy the book?
See, I'm a little short of cash right now.
The car really needs an oil change, but GAWD I love Al Franken. I do hope he's got good security.
Another great Minnesotan.....and now that I think of it, the nephew that borrowed "Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot" hasn't returned it yet. I'm going to call him right now.

Geez, the mileage on the car is really getting up there. Can it wait two weeks or what?

Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 03:12 PM by newsguyatl
go get the book!

((and if your car breaks down, at least you'll have a kick ass book to read while waiting on someone to come get you)) ;-)

on edit: actually if you have a border's in your town, they currently have them on sale 30%, equals out to about 17.46... at least here in atlanta, they do...

13. NGA
I called around on Thursday looking for a deal on the book.

No one has it discounted (Borders, Barnes and Noble).

How much did you pay for it?

I'm still reading Conanson's book, which I paid full price for.

I don't want to pay full price again if I don't have to.

20. Amazon has it discounted
the rest will follow suit provided it stay in the top ten.

It's best, however, to buy from your local independent bookstore, but if you really need the discount, try Amazon.

The book is great, in many way, the best of the bunch. Big Lies, What Liberal Media and Thieves in High Places are all good but Franken mixes humor with great research and hard hitting facts.

I guess, having read the Conason quote above, it's time to take off the gloves. Arm ourselves with the facts and refuse to back down in an argument, even if it means we end up screaming too.

21. I got my copy at Borders, discounted 30%. It's terrific.
Regular price $25 - I paid $17 something.

The only thing I disliked was that it wasn't longer - I read it in two days and wanted more!!

16. Change your oil
Franken's book will still be there, but your car might not be.

I say this knowing I won't be able to get Franken's book soon, since I am on a long waiting list.
