How many degrees of separation between most Murkins & a dead troop?

I just talked with my neighbor whose son (a nice kid, just turned 20) is in the army. He was in Afghanistan, got leave in N. Carolina and due to ship out to Iraq in a couple weeks. One of his buddies was killed in Afg. That's too close for me. Any other DUers have that close a connection with anybody killed in Shrub's faux 'war'?

But I've known people killed in other wars. Lost a cousin in Korea.

3. My sister-in-laws friend joined the Army earlier this year and is now

Korea. Having served in the Army briefly, I warned her not to go and told her she was going to hate it. I heard earlier this week she HATES every minute of it and can't wait to get the hell out. I'm afraid she'll be headed to Iraq once her Korea tour is over with.....

BTW, she's only 20.
