It's accurate, 48 states are in the red currently. All of them are if you don't count the massive federal contributions to their budgets.

Education funding is in deep, deep trouble. The same thing is going on in Kansas. I'm sure there are many, many others. How about how many states aren't having financial trouble? That would most likely be a shorter list.
