At First, Thought "a Democrat" Said It. No, Just a Wingnut
Whether this is what ROVE (is he getting fitted for handcuffs yet?) really believes or WANTS us to believe he believes, it's getting old. Was going to title this, "Would a REAL Dem Say 'LIBERATION of Iraq'?" But a more attentive re-reading yielded that the supposed quotation from the Democrat had ended and it was just the NY Post wingnut gossip queen who was claiming that 1) DEAN is the MOST LIBERAL and 2) outspoken against the LIBERATION OF IRAQ.

Native VT-ers have said here and on the yak shows that DEAN's record was one of Liberal Repuke or Conservative Dem. And as for being AGAINST LIBERATION, what a loaded piece of language--------only TRAITORS would be against LIBERATION, no? It's more the anti-Shrub energy force than the anti-war thing that he originally tapped into.

DEAN LEAD HELPS HILLARY

WITH Howard Dean sprinting away from the rest of the Democratic presidential candidates, Sen. Hillary Clinton can now relax and start planning for 2008 - confident that Dean will go down in flames. "Dean is McGovern without the folksy charm," said one observer, referring to George McGovern, the Democrat who carried only one state (Massachusetts) against Richard Nixon in 1972. "This is going to save us a lot of money," said a Democrat who normally makes substantial campaign contributions. Dean is the most liberal of the Democrats in the race and the most outspoken against the U.S. liberation of Iraq. But, according to a Zogby poll of New Hampshire voters, he is 21 points ahead of his closest rival, Sen. John Kerry, and pulling away. The numbers are even more surprising since Kerry is from neighboring Massachusetts. "He's New Hampshire's third senator," said one Democrat.

1. The Page Six gossip column
is pro-GOP and anti-Dem. They often defend Bush and attack the Clintons and other Dems. Notice he doesn't refer to Clark. And Dean is only 10 points behind Bush in the most-recent Zogby poll, which I don't consider bad at all in this stage of the race.

2. It's easy to deal with this loaded word...
...just tell them that you won't call it "liberation" until you /see/ liberation. There's still plenty of pictures of the martial law there, and the people protesting it.

Until then, it's that you don't support "the unjustified killing of over 6000 civilians" in Iraq.

4. But they hate us for our freedom. Why should we force it on them?
Liberty and freedom do mean the same thing don't they? If they hate liberation why are we there? Bush* says Quite often "They hate us for our freedom"

7. It was the "invasion" of Iraq. That is clearly a factual statement.
Whether it is "liberated" or not is completely subjective and open to lots of different opinions. For instance, it appears to me, as one person that the Iraqis are now (unsuccessfully) repressed by infidels, whereas before they were (successfully) repressed by a socialist dictator who was one of them.

It is highly debatable as to whether they are "liberated"

8. there it is again
Dean is the most liberal blah blah, christ its like Kucinich is invisible but he isnt. I am sorry but if you ever see me lament its shit like this that makes me so aggrevated. Kucinich is never mentioned and Dean is called the most liberal. Its simple shit like that, and others. I am sorry folks I really am but please let me explain my frustration; Kucinich speaks out too and opposed the war yet when I read the papers I read that Dean is the only one against the war. They never if ever mention Kucinich, I wonder how he feels probably worse, but history has a good place for the guy win or lose.
