Ok, now I am pissed
Some jerkoff Reverend in Alabama just compared thier phony cause to that of the civil rights movement.
He compared himself and Moore to Rosa Parks, of all people.

Now, I understand that they are probably evil, racist bastard motherfuckers. But they have no right to compare themselves to anyone in the civil rights movement.

These shallow, self-absorbed assholes are going to the deepest pit of hell when they die.

They say they honor God.
But that is a lie.

Allow me to let you in on a little secret:
These people don't give a shit about God.

1. On the 40th anniversary
of King's March on Washington, I consider that statement to be sacrilegious.

2. Yes, it is grotesque
Edited on Thu Aug-28-03 12:32 PM by tom_paine
Especially to be said by the sons and daughters (at least a few, if not more) and grandsons of grandaughters of the Funamentalist Lynchers, as opposed to the lynchees.

Orwellian, shameful and grotesque.

Kind of wish for an alternate universe in which an African-American Bull Conner would sick the dogs and shoot the hoses (not to mention burn their churches down) at these fools. If they are going to claim similarity, if their is any justice, they would taste it themselves.

But, as I said before, these people are the lynchers, not the lynchees.

NOTE to OHS Thugs: I said "kind of". You Sovet/Nazi bootlickers of Totalitarianism!

9. Thats part of the problem
I was watching some of the commentary with some of the protesters. They were talking about how good it felt.

Then it occured to me:

These people are sheep, lapdogs, yes-men, cheerleaders, right?
Finally they found out what its like to stand up for something they believe in despite how unpopular it is.

But having the audacity to compare their sick, racist asses to the civil rights movement is just disgusting.

7. Why do you let these people set your agenda?
Why do you let them live in your head rent free? There are more important issues to concern ourselves with -- this one's over, for the moment. Let it go and spend your time constructively.

in the south. if they stay on it and hit the right notes -- it could become an issue that our presidential hopefuls will be forced to comment on.
it won't matter what bush says about it -- they will love him.
or as i say about some of my boy friends -- a grower not a shower.

8. exactly like the talking heads on TV
Tucker Carson used that same argument on Crossfire for two days. The difference between a Federal judge defying a court order and a minister should be obvious to all. Not to mention the circumstances of the two people involved. Moore should have been relieved of his position a long time ago if he lets his ideology interfere that much with his legal rulings.

10. Moore? MLK?
The onlyconnection between the two is that both were/are Christian. That's all. Their brands of Chrstianity are very different; the distance between their tolerance levels of other views is, let's put it mildly, the distance from us to Andromeda; MLK never tried to force his views on anyone; and there're probably 429067125.3 other things I can continue with to differentiate the two.

12. HOW DARE THEY?
They are the same fools who marched against the civil rights movement. They stripped blacks of their freedom, now they're trying to strip us of our freedom of religion.

Do a google search and see that the label is code for the KKK.

18. Do you have any proof of that?
I'm not doubting you at all but I'm curious. Does the CIM support this or did they have a hand in creating this debate in the first place?

17. It occurred to me
that what is going on is training for 2004, when/if the repugs need another "rent-a-mob", as seen in Florida. Basicly these are the very same people, low regard for the law when it dosen't go their way.

23. How come the Southern 'Christians' always ignore
What that Jesus fellow taught? You know, the things about not "praying to be seen of men," but "entering into your closet and praying to the Father in secret?" And how about "rendering unto Caesar those things which are Caesar's?"

How come they've always got to be such a fire-n-brimstone, eye-for-an-eye buncha idjits, completely ignoring what Jesus taught???

:freak:
