Here, 75 people were just killed in Iraq (of course they were just muslims, so what does it matter!!) one of our soldiers was killed and a British soldier was killed. They're talking about Madonna kissing someone and how Chris Matthews is going to discuss Arnold tonight! I can't believe this.

1. yup. it's that bad
welcome to the world of corporate media

The sad thing is most Americans would rather see Britney and Maddonna kiss than they would be informed.

2. Well, the kiss IS rather exciting
if you like that kind of thing, of course ;-)

But on the whole I agree: the news just isn't news.

3. Well, in a way, it IS news -
entertainment news. We used to get it from the !Entertainment channel and the National Inquirer and in the old days, movie mags. Now our major news outlets seem to think they do a better job of providing entertainment news. Real news seems to be done now only by some newspapers and some internet sites.

4. I can believe it...in the Amerikan Empire
Just par for the course.

We are living in the first chapters of "Animal Farm" right now.

It is only going downhill from here.

6. Yep, and John Elliot didn't take his meds today....
He called Arnold's campaign rally "Pandalerious". Geez! Saying he (Arnold) had "staccato delivery" and mimicking "WE CAN DO IT" over and over again. The reddish haired woman journalist was giggling the whole time she was delivering the "75 dead in car bombing at the Mosque in Iraq" story PATHETIC. I turned it off an hour ago. I guess it freaky friday there at the MSGOP.
