Maybe it's apple juice...we can't prove otherwise and the picture doesn't actually show him drinking it anyway.

I shoot for a friend's band. You'd be amazed at how goofy most people look in candid shots. This photo proves exactly nothing.

There are legitimate criticizms one can forward and there are unsubstianted attacks. This thread falls into the latter category, in my opinion.

If you knew somebody at work who used random photos to accuse people of actions without any other proof, would you be more or less inclined to believe them the next time they wanted to discuss somebody's faults? Me, I'd say less inclined.

I think the thread hurts us in that it's one more example of "mindless liberals" throwing around accusations with no proof. Don't we bash Freepers for doing the same thing?

The author had every right to post this, I'm just stating that I think it's silly and counterproductive.

the last thing that I'm going to say in response to this thread being counterproductive is that you don't have to participate in it...there are thousands of threads here that you can involve yourself in that may be more "productive" to you...i'm not trying to give you shit but why not let us have some fun with it instead of making a big deal out of it...

believe me...being called a "mindless liberal" by a freeper because of a thread like this won't hurt my feelings one way or the other...the freepers/righties/conservatives are going to call us that and other names regardless of what kind of thread is posted here...they have been doing it before this thread and they will be doing it after this thread...

Like I said a half-dozen posts ago, our opinions differ. That's fine.

Personally, sensationalistic accusations strike me as hurting our cause. There are plenty of people who seem to think they're fine. I'm just expressing my opinion to these people and asking them to consider what making unsubstiantiated claims does to one's credibility.

I think I'll take your advice and try to steer clear of this type of post in the future.

These photo threads on DU are always ridiculous.

"Look, you can tell he's completely out of his mind!" when the guy's just walking across the lawn or something.

I don't get it. I do photography and cinematography and you can always pick a frame that make people look stoned or half asleep or crazy or whatever.

I guess I took it out on this post in particular because of the "downright scary" caption and the accusation of drinking.

After spending over a year posting in the 9/11 Forum here I should be more prepared for :tinfoilhat: stuff like this...

Why is that important? Because legitimacy is essential for de facto power. Official or “de jure” power is not enough for a leader to maintain control. He has to also have the INTANGIBLES of legitimacy — de facto authority. That’s why presidents can become lame ducks in their second term. Bush must be denied LEGITIMACY.
