Why can't the Democrats be civil like the Repubs were in 1996...?
After Bill Clinton was re-elected. They didn't harp on and on about the election. They didn't hold any animosities against Clinton like the Democrats do against Bush. The election is over. "Get over it!", they say. Those Democrats are just mean and spiteful people, aren't they? :)

1. Well said, good point
It seems as though our party forgot how to fight like that. Where are the pundits and talking heads denigrating Bush? Where is the dissent? I just don't know any more...

12. Remember we don't control the mainstream media
we have some junk yard dogs, but alas not on Cross fire, or Tweety or any other so called liberal show....

But they keep spreading the lie...

Have you tried sending very critical letters to the paper? Have they been published?

That is the free clue of the morning (oh and keep writing them letters by the way... the more the merrier)

Oh and you and me ARE THE MEDIA

2. They worked hand-in-hand with Clinton, didn't they?
It was all about bipartisanship and respecting the choice of the people to lead them, as I recall! :-P

3. Maybe because
Clinton wasn't a war criminal who had turned the opinion of the vast majority of the world against the US? Just a guess.

4. Yeah, just think of what they might have done:
charged Clinton with some sort of crime or something.

6. I almost peed myself....
Yeah, you're right... Why can't Democrats leave well enough alone.

All this "LOOK OUT! Democracy is being subverted" talk.

Why can't they talk about real issues? - like whose getting a blowjob in the White House. It's MORAL issues that threaten this country - not whether or not Democracy is 'in trouble'.

Silly Democrats.

15. Why We Won't Get Over It
The Republicans never accepted Clinton and began a witch hunt even before he was inaugurated. Clinton was trying to do his best for the people, creating jobs, balancing the budget and building bridges around the world. All the while, the Republicans were obsessed with discrediting him. They focused on his personal life because that was all they could find. Even after they impeached him on frivolous charges, they could not discredit him with the majority of the American people. Yet, they still blame all their failures on him. It's incredible. Clinton was actually elected by the American people twice and they cannot get over it.
As for Bush, why are Democrats miffed? Perhaps it's because he has looted the treasury, lied us into an illegal and immoral war, sanctioned torture and abuse of prisoners, stomped on constitutionally protected civil liberties, jeopardized our security with his twisted and fictitious "war on terror" (can't fight that feeling!), favored corporations and special interests over the public welfare, divided the country with his false and mean-spirited rhetoric, sent young men and women to fight without adequate planning and equipment, disgraced our nation in the world of public opinion, raped our environment, stolen two elections and lied, lied, lied. Oh, don't get me started.

"They didn't hold any animosities against Clinton like the Democrats do against Bush"
Ken Starr did everything he could short of going through their garbage
to get Clinton tossed out, starting with whitewater

When Clinton bombed the "asprin factory" an a tip that OBL had just arrived there he was accused of covering up the Lewinski situation

The repugs were on his ass from the moment he took office and he still gets blamed for crap that * is the real culprit for.

The vibes that repugs are mistaking for animosity is rage from what * has done to America. Dems are not greedy for power, we just want a competent, fair president that is able to use logic and reason to make a decision.

They are dealing with feelings that Dems had to deal with for 8 years and they can't handle it
boo frickin hoo

14. I don't believe clinton
began outlawing factions of people (ie outlawing gay speech is a form of outlawing gays). I don't remember him trying to end the separation of church and state. I remember him taking the deficit responsibly and trying to solve it - Bush never had a plan for paying it off. I don't remember voter fraud in 1996 or unaccountable(traceless transaction) voting machines. The list just goes on and on. It should have been our Supreme Court that made the presidential election invalid today, and I think a whole lot of Americans know that.

19. Clinton was elected-Bush lost the first time
and the second time is questionable with all the voting irregularities. We have a one party system where there are no checks and balances. Where he and his people are making all of the decisions.
These decisions don't require the approval of anyone and are not in the best interests of this country and it's people. What we have is not an elected administration-We have a Coup.

Are people civil in response to a coup? I don't think so.
