1. I can use it to cover the marjuana leaf decal on my car's rear bumper
OK, maybe I don't really have a big green hemp leaf on the back of my car, but if I had any real balls, I would.

Those support our troups yellow ribbons just annoy me alot for some reason. I'd like a "suppor our troops, bring them home" bumper sticker.

"Support President Bush and our Troops" on a stars and stripes background. I wanted to :puke: I bought one of those blue ribbons but haven't put in on my car yet.

20. Hi, !
I know why the yellow ribbons annoy me. Because in my experience, the "support the troops" folks don't do squat for the troops. They support the war, not the troops.

45. I saw "My daughter is fighting to protect...
your freedoms -- you're welcome" painted on the back of a star-spangled red, white and blue pickup truck. I was so tempted to get out at a stoplight and say something to the numbnut driver, but thought the better of it.

along with a boatload of anti-* stickers and a K/E sticker. I'm not sure where I got mine from (cafepress I think) but here's a link from a quick google:

http://www.bumperart.com/ProductDetails.aspx?SKU=2004030822&productID=2207

(It's not obvious from the posting order but I was replying to post number 7 where ExclamationPoint was looking for a "support our troops, bring them home" bumper sticker).

12. Hmm...
Uh, I don't think any of us like the war or the slaughter of innocents, but we also all want our troops to come home alive to their families.

I smell a troll.

15. Excuse me
Our troops enlisted because they thought they'd be serving their country and maybe getting an education in thanks. They didn't sign up to kill any innocent civilians.

Many of us here have family members serving and don't appreciate people calling them murderers. George W. Bush and his Klan are the murderers, not our troops.

Your attitude is not welcome here and only gives us a bad name.

22. A word of caution...
The magnetic ribbons can hurt your cars finish. In fact there is a class action lawsuit because of cars being damaged from some of the "Support the Troops" variety.. I saw one the other day that someone had moved on the car--and it had left a shadow. I wish I had a link to back up my comment--but I don't remember where I saw it.

I love the blue ribbon--but think the window decal variety is safer for the car. Or the bumpersticker from BringThemHomeNow.com. Just trying to be helpful.

49. I was told they hurt when it rains.
Supposedly, it's the water that gets caught underneath that causes the damage.

The good thing about the magnets is that you can take them off when the car is unattended.

23. I know the intentions are good, but...
If all the money Americans have spent on these retarded magnet dingies to make some kind of "statement" had been collected and sent to the military hospitals, every wounded soldier would have warm comfortable clothing, a phone card to call friends and relatives, and other things they need. The government whose policies they got their asses shot off to support doesn't supply these things, of course.

And it doesn't pay them enough to buy them for themselves.

How about lightening up on the "for appearances" statements and making some real statements of support for the poor buggers who are getting nailed?

wearily,
Bright

Where I live - in Tennessee - I would be afraid to put any kind of decal on my car that was in any way anti-Chimp. My car would be vandalized within one week, I am sure. People here love the Chimp.

I live in TEXAS/ there are fewer chimp lovers here than they think\

Many, Many people are afraid to disagree.

Your courage is sorely needed.

When I express my opinion on my vehicle or otherwise, you would be amazed how many approach me to say they wish they had the courage to be so open.

You must be the change = evil flourishes when good men (or women) do nothing!

Why would I ever put something remotely like theirs on my vehicle?

Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 05:37 PM by bajamary
Hi DU Folks,

I just wanted to let you know my website has a car ribbon magnet that I designed which reads:

"Pray for Peace, Work for Justice"

http://www.4-my-country.com

I'm new to DU, so I don't know how to have an image posted inside my message, sorry as one picture is well, explains itself fairly well.

BYT, it's a blue ribbon with white lettering.

Cheers,
Mary
